What Are You Listening To?

MY MORNING JACKET "at dawn" cd

i was turned onto this band by Tiggi late last year...and much appreciated too!!

this is the second album from the Louiseville,Kentucky quintet. for the most part there is nothing original about this band, but instead they appear to play to their influences, drawing on Sabbath-esque sounds on "strangulation", Skynyrd style "just because i do", good old southern rock influences, touches of reggae and '60s style pop. but all in all it makes for a good album. the vocalists vocals tend to be high pitched, somewhere between Gene Pitney and Neil Young's sound, there's a lot of songs over their albums that actually could have been NY and Crazy Horse tracks.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM

MY MORNING JACKET "at dawn" cd

Glad you're enjoying them Crazyman.

I have a copy of The Tennessee Fire which a work colleague has burned for me. Haven't listened yet...

The NME recently carried news of their next studio release:

I know damn well I've posted an Ultravox album here. Where the hell is it? Does this Search thing even work? That's my rant for the day. Anyway, I know these guys could go in electronic also, but I'm puttin' em here. I had mentioned in another thread that I owned 2 Ultravox albums. Let's make that 3. Three albums by a group I dont even care for. You'd think a guy would learn by at least 2. Still don't know what song persuaded me to explore them. Maybe a recomendation from someone. Maybe that's why I don't have many friends. Then again it could be the Cohen. Works both ways. This is Ultravox's third album and the last with original lead vocalist John Foxx. Didn't even know there was a change. This album is said to have been a change in style for the group. Wouldn't know as I have not heard either of the first two releases. Do not see where the album ever charted here or by the Brits. Surprised at that. Maybe not, for me anyway.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

Worst Track - Some Of Them

Best Track - Just For A Moment

Talking in the window as the light fades
I heard my voice break just for a moment
Talking by the window as the light fades
I felt the floor change into an ocean
We'll never leave here, never
Let's stay in here forever
And when the streets are quiet
We'll walk out in the silence

Listening to the movement that the night makes
I let the room fade just for a moment
Sitting in the shadows that the leaves make
I felt the floor change into an ocean
We'll never leave here, never
Let's stay in here forever
And when the streets are quiet
We'll walk out in the silence

Listening to the music the machines make
I let my heart break just for a moment
Listening to the music the machines make
I felt the floor change into an ocean
We'll never leave here never
Let's stay in here for ever
And when the streets are quiet
We'll walk out in the silence

Does the search work if you use "Advanced Search", then click "Search Single Content Type", then enter your keyword ??

Using this method, I found your previous Ultravox entry, MH.

aha, I did try the Advanced Search but not the Search Single Content Type
Now if I can remember that for the future
funny no other search could find it
thanks

ok, I did that search and all it gives me is 8 different threads where I would still have to go through each page of the thread to find anything.
I know that's not what you did, so what am I doing wrong
step by step
I'm slow

When you have your list of threads, click the largest green text in the main body of the chosen thread entry, not the thread title (Next to "Thread:"), and it'll take you straight to the post concerned.
