Ireland's best Blues/Rock protagonist ??

Bob Dylan - Desire
&
Leonard Cohen - Dear Heather
Two of "Rock" music's heavyweights. Both have stood the test of time well.
Desire, from the mid-70s is messily beautiful, and is a solid examination of American Roots music.
Dear Heather, recorded some 30 years later than Desire, uses many of the same Rootsy sensibilities, yet sounds utterly 21st-century.
Neither of them can sing.
...but that doesn't matter a jot.

"Help!" The Beatles
I like LC a lot. I've been wondering as to whether Dear Heather might be any good or not. I seem to have a wariness toward artists' newer albums lately, for some reason.

Hi Alex,
If memory serves, you've previously said that you have heard
I'm Your Man,
and if that's correct, and you like
IYF, I'd have no hesitation in recommending
Dear Heather.
There are a few more jazzy sensibilities on this than on
IYF, and it's beautifully recorded.

Hmm.. Interesting. I will have to check it out, then. If you like his more folk-ish music, I'd recommend Songs of Love and Hate and New Skin For an Old Ceremony... "Diamonds in the Mine" is really rather surprising for Leonard. He basically screams during the last chorus of the song. Both albums are very poetic and intense. Great stuff.

Steve Winwood - Arc of a Diver
I don't usually go for the blue-eyed soul end of the Rock spectrum, but this isn't bad...
