i havent been myself the last couple of weeks, thus i havent done the Australian charts so a brief recap of the last two weeks then this weeks charts:

10/04

Snoop dogg's "sweat" knocked Jennifer Lopez/Pitbull off the top of the singles charts, Pitbull's "give me everything" debuted on the charts at #14.
on the album charts Aussie band Drapht went straight in at #1 with "the life of riley" followed in at #2 by K.D Lang & The Siss Boom Bang with her latest offering and Justin Bieber's "my worlds" album jumped from #34 to #15 on the strength of the Bieber movie.

"party rock anthem" by LMFAO leapt from #13 to the top spot on the singles charts displacing Snoopy after a single week.
on the albums charts it was no big surprise that the Foo Fighters went straight in at #1, Lady Antebellum's "need you now" album returned to the top 10 at #5 up from #16 and Ronan Keating's covers album of Bacharach songs went straight in at #8.

thats pretty much my opinion also, glad you got the vevo clip

did notice on the billboard album charts this week that there are 7 'debut' albums in the top 10??? thats a lot for you guys in one week

I've noticed in past years that KD Lang is very popular in Australia !!!! The Watershed album (2008) went gold down under. Hymns of the 49th Parallel did very well also. She is definitely one of the best female crooners of all time - Crying and Hallelujah give me goose bumps.

Seems to me that Aussies in general just plainly love music. I don't think KD has been recognised on a broader scale globally ?

this could be due to several reasons:

1. we have one of the widest diversities of cultures here
2. we are 10,000miles from US and Europe so we're not as influenced by location
3. i find europeans/Americans tend to support their own homegrown talent before they support "imports"
4. artists who appear accessable to people and down to earth in their personalities tend to be appreciated here

maybe i am wrong but this is how i see it

also, K.D, Pink,Stevie Nicks and numerous others are more popular here per head of population than anywhere else
