Another courtesy of Robbie.
Third studio release from March this year.
I like the first two, but this one's not so appealing. I guess it's contemporary Prog Rock, with the occasional foray into Prog-Metal.
The album picked up toward the end, but still doesn't make it onto the Buy List.
AllMusic 3/5 stars.

HW served as a backing vocalist for Carmel before this debut record from 1987.
Soft Rock with some Jazzy vocals. Her voice reminded me of some of Joni Mitchell's Jazzier stuff.
IIRC I bought this following a review in a hi-fi mag at the time. This album for me exemplifies where hi-fi buffs get it so wrong. The music is flawlessly delivered by some top session players, and the production is impeccable, but the music is fairly soulless.
Sounds great, but lacks music. Probably haven't played this in 20 years, and it could be another 20 years before it gets another spin.
Not scored by AllMusic (Too crap, probably...).

One of their more bombastic efforts, from 1976.
I have 6 or 7 Queen albums, but have never thought of them as much of an albums band. They made loads of sharp singles, and were evidently a top drawer live act, but their albums always manage to slightly disappoint.
This isn't a bad album, but certainly isn't great either. The degree of multi-tracking used throughout this album is a bit wince-worthy, but I guess subtlety was never a Queen attribute.
AllMusic 3+/5 stars.

David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars. This one was way ahead of it's time and is therefore timeless.
