ive just watched a documentary i taped the other night on Charlie Sheen, covered his early hollywood years through to "der, winning!" "adonis dna" "tiger blood" comments from a few months ago.
IMO Sheen appears to have had psychiatric problems for a long long time, obviously had alcohol, sex, drug problems also, i suppose its hard to get through to people when they have serious problems...but where is Martin Sheen in all this???...can he not get Charlie committed? or is he totally embarrassed by his son's behaviour??

Mr. Sheen is massively self-destructive, to be sure, but others worse have survived even thrived (Keith Richard), while others crash and burn (too numerous to name but there's the Usual Suspects). Mystery to me. Yes legit to ask where Dad was but also how about his empowered brother, Emilio Estevez ? Perhaps the family wrote him off (Uncle Charlie's locked in the basement--we don't talk about him or to him). Mystery to me. What's not a mystery to me is how electric his every moment on screen is--esp. compared with that dishrag, Ashton Kutcher. In sum, he's a slow-moving train-wreck you can't look away from. Wish him the best but can I see the video when it inevitably happens?.--Seymour Phillip Hoffman a much lower-key guy, sucumbed again after 20+ clean years
