Tonight - something totally different. Some time ago I required the services of a professional cellist (Evva Mizerska) to help me realise a part I was dabbling with. She did a magnificent job (she always does) and as a result I have purchased her first CD - Complete Works for Cello and Piano - Krzysztof Meyer. Going to give that a whirl tonight - not sure what to expect but I am keeping an open mind. Time for a change.

Off the beaten path a little Mr. J...but the Eno/Holland cd you mentioned is extremely good and addictive ....my third listening today !!!!...thanks man !

I know you'll enjoy Evva's cd !

not that im a great fan of LC yet, but he certainly deserves his own genre as does His Bobness, both of whom are totally unique and original IMHO.

Another of my $5 purchases, damn I'm cheap. Have a compilation on vinyl and a few studio albums, but these guys were good enough for a $5 cd. Studio albums never rated that high for me, but they had some damn good singles. Never Been To Spain was always my favorite but 6 other tracks also get a top mark, and nothing bad. Even the covers pass the test. Shambala is my least favorite. Prefer the original by the little known B.W. Stevenson. Mama Told Me Not To Come, Newman's is better. The Show Must Go On was a classic by Leo Sayer, but the TDN version is equally fantastic. One drawback with the group for me was that they seldom wrote their own material. But they could pick em. Or maybe their manager or label or whatever. The hits were good.
