On the laptop.
Their fourth, released in 1986.
I'm only familiar with their House of Dolls album, which is very good, but had a feeling that this wouldn't be good. It is.
Their Gothy appearance may put some off, but they are a quality band, who deal in good, melodic Alternative Rock.
Enjoyed this much more than expected, so it becomes another member of the Buy List club.
AllMusic 4+/5 stars.

Going to see them play a free show tonight. I get so excited when I'm going to a show!

2002 side-project for Gibbons, the Portishead singist.
Due to Gibbon's distinctive voice, and the similarity in pace of the songs, this sounds not unlike Portishead, but the electronic Trip-Hop beats are absent, replaced with lots of acoustic guitars, and some Jazzy arrangements.
A lovely album, that comes across as one that will reward many repeat plays.
AllMusic 4/5 stars.
PS this is another for SteveO's slow music list, if it's not already on there...

It was good but it was late as shows usually are. So, my youngest kid didn't make it all the way until 'I'll Stop The Worlds and Melt With You" we left early but my teenager who has autism loved it. He was dancing and singing along. A pleasant surprise as he's never been into music. I enjoyed watching that almost as much as I enjoyed watching the show. They opened with " Someones Calling" which is what I went to hear. So I was happy. They sounded good. I am too short to have gotten any pictures. lol

One of my favorite Punk albums Ever! Possibly my favorite ska-punk album. Unfortunately it's difficult to find live performances on YouTube where the sound quality is tolerable! I never got to see them live as Operation Ivy but Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman formed Rancid and I did get to see them. They played a few token Ivy songs and the whole set was awesome.

That sounds interesting, Trace.
It's gone onto the Investigate List.
Thank you very much.

On the laptop.
Fourth album, from 2007.
I've had another Iron And Wine album on loan from Robbie before, and although it was quite good, it was a bit borderline for the Buy List. This album is much better in my view.
Imaginative, and melodic Alt-Folk, which is not too far removed from what I've come to expect from Will Oldham in his various guises. Very enjoyable, so a cert for the Buy List.
AllMusic 4+/5 stars.

Their fifth release, from 1992.
Probably my least favourite album from one of my favourite bands.
The guitars & drums are fiercer here than on most of their recorded output, but that's not really a problem. The lyrics are customarily unsettlingly deranged, and the music is as idiosyncratic as ever.
Despite it's status as my least fave of theirs, it really hit the spot...
AllMusic 3+/5 stars.
