Let It Be-the Replacements
This is one of those few albums that I just find to be beyond criticism. Most people have reserved such honors for stuff like the Beatles, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, etc, but for me it's always been this kind of stuff. Maybe it's just that I view myself as rebelious teenager trapped in suburban hell, but this album has always hit so close to home for me. I'm gonna stop now before I get too emotional

Lonesome Crowded West-Modest Mouse
Not as good as their masterpiece, "The Moon and Antarctica", but also quite brilliant. One of the greatest bands of all time imo

^ never released a bad album either
anyways, World of Echo-Arthur Russel I really like Russel as a guy. Not that I've ever met him, but he seems really cool. Too bad he can't make music beyond obnoxious moans and strumming at a violin

The Dicators featuring Handsome Dick. Also Bad Religion, but I listen to them every day. BTW, Greg's book about humanism is coming out in paperback soon. Great read!

Perverted By Language-the Fall
What an amazing band. This is a great post punk lp, but not as good as a lot of their other stuff. Still, this is one of the most prolific bands in rock, they've got too many great albums to name

![]() MY MORNING JACKET "circuital" cd, 2011. special thanks to Tiggi for "turning me on" to these guys twelve months ago....much appreciated mate! got this one when it was first released and only just got round to giving it a couple of spins...SteveO mentioned it a while ago and thought it was either very good or brilliant from memory(please correct me if i quoted you wrong mate!).... anyway, IMO this is their finest work to date and still sound like they are having fun doing it. this is more inline with their "Z" album in terms of melodies and harmonies than its predeccessor "evil urges"(which was also good btw). these guys have had around seven albums now(cant quite recall the exact number, but i should as i have all their albums to date). although their other albums are fine collections in their own right, this one uses less experimentation and pretty much goes back to basics for a nearly flawless collection of songs on a single disc, some of the tracks here exceed five and six minutes yet manage to hold my attention pretty well. also these guys always seem to eclipse their studio recordings when performing live from what i have seen of them on dvd and tv....a truly great live act(Tiggi will testify to that as he has seen them live on tour with Neil Young) these guys should be more popular than they are in terms of sales figures and chart placings...but quality material doesnt always sell in bucket loads as we are all aware! i urge everyone to check out this one and because it is a back to rock basics album it is easily accessable as an introduction to MMJ! you could pretty well pick any track/link here to listen to as they are all great songs. I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: n/a best track:its so hard to decide to advocate one single track over the rest but here goes...."wonderful(the way i feel)" and/or "first light" tracks: 1. victory dance ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI_jLQPNLpE live 2. circuital *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohE3Dm9H0_g audio 3. the day is coming *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FMlZKebHp0 live 4. wonderful(the way i feel) *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UTq_EhaDUU live 5. outta my system *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXig7XhEyOM audio 6. holdin' onto black metal *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfDHmVsqU...re=related audio 7. first light *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX-Q3Dk9r...re=related audio 8. you wanna freak out *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obxejXLxRCE live 9. slow slow tune ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-GTnoFQ2QI live 10.movin' away ** 3s=7 2s=3 1s=0 rating: 2.7
