Gotta agree here - I love Pink Floyd...but seriously..delicate sound of thunder on CD is just so wrong. I went to see the concert in Perth many moons ago..and their live performance on the tracks played on CD were full on mindblowing! What was recorded on disc...most definately is NOT what it sounded like at all live.
Yes CH..when the Money song came on disc...I felt like ejecting it and hurling it out the window of my car. The timing was out, the backup singers...well ..must have been on drugs and thinking about trains. The tempo was right out of whack...maybe their metronome was busted or something...oh wait...professional artists shouldnt need those...
I swear...like Tiggi said...IMPOSTERS!!! The REAL PF was live and the actual video footage of the live concert was spot on!

I think Mr Gilmour's solo on Comfortably Numb on TDSOT is his best to date. All other versions pale in comparison to that one. The phrasing is perfect. But I have to agree about the other tracks. They are bad imitations.

PINK FLOYD - Ummagumma (1969)
![[Image: 220px-PinkFloyd-album-ummagummastudio-300.jpg]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/16/PinkFloyd-album-ummagummastudio-300.jpg/220px-PinkFloyd-album-ummagummastudio-300.jpg)
This is the first album that I heard by Pink Floyd and even today it still amazes me ! How did they create all of those "weird" sounds back in 1969 and then duplicate them to a tee for the most part at their live concerts !
As a double album, studio and live, it stands out as a landmark for me....the music so different and experimental.
Does anyone know why they released a live and studio album together ?
And the memorable and somewhat forgotten tracks - Live version of their standard playlist of the day - Astronomy Domine, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Careful with That Axe, Eugene and A Saucerful of Secrets are still brilliant today !
The studio tracks - Sysyphus, The Narrow Way, The Grand Vizier's Garden Party and of course Waters' Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict...lol...what a brilliant and inventive mind !
Also many of the tracks here are between seven to thirteen minutes in length. Lots of music on this twofer.

"I find that Pink Floyd's contribution to music is too monumental and brilliant that I have no one album that really stands out from the other !
Each album is a monumental achievement within itself...avant garde, psychedelic, rock, progressive, folk , I enjoy them all !
One of the greatest ensembles in music history IMHO ! " ...I said this here before !
David Pritchard - Nocturnal Earthworm Stew
Proggy synth instrumental (mostly instrumental anyway) music from the mid-seventies. I've seen it described as headphones music, lots odd sounds. Happy sounding, could be background music for cheesey Sci-Fi show.

Lindsey Buckingham - Seeds We Sow ......released Sep 2011
His sixth solo adventure and what an adventure it is ! The super
talented songwriter, vocalist and guitarist of Fleetwood Mac delivers a
superb straight ahead rock album full of melodic songs. There are rock
ballads and high energy rockers with powerful choruses sung by a great
rock voice. Lindsey's guitar playing is remarkable acoustically and
plugged in. He is certainly a very underrated guitarist.
There really are no bad songs on this outing ! Buckingham even performs
a Stones'cover. The album goes by quickly and is a complete joy to
listen to. I recommend this album to anyone who likes a good rock
performance with no gimmickry or frills. This studio release would have
made a very entertaining live album.Apparently he recorded, performed
and produced this album at home after leaving Warner Brothers records !
The sound is impeccable !
AllMusic rating .... 4/5
Track List:
1. Seeds We Sow 2. In Our Own Time 3. Illumination 4. That's the Way
Love Goes 5. Stars are Crazy 6. When She Comes Down 7. Rock Away
Blind 8. One Take 9. Gone Too Far 10. End of Time 11. She Smiled Sweetly (Rolling Stones
cover)

...all the pieces are now fitting in the puzzle, the puzzle being that radio here has been playing his biggest Aussie solo hit a lot lately...that hit, "trouble" from the early 1980s
