Fave Concept Album?

This probably shows my age, but my vote goes to Days of Future Passed by the Moody Blues. I think each song portrays the various times of the day really well

Well the idea behind the album was to create a fictitious band that contained "alter egos" for each bandmember and record and album with set band, which they named Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club band. The purpose behind the creation of the band was to attain creative freedom which would allow them to experiment with their music, however after the album's release John Lenon stated that almost all the songs could have been on any other album, so you could argue that it ended up as something other than a concept album, but i think the intentions and idea behind the album makes it a concept album.

I believe you are right here...................the concept was to send the album out to do the touring instead of the band!

And another I like is Camel's 'Snow Goose' and 'Nude' albums. Dust and Dreams is not bad either.

Used to have the Styx album many moons ago - 'Cornerstone' as well. Both great albums.

I agree. I know a lot of people consider Styx cheesy and like to make fun of them, but they're one of my favorite bands. Maybe they are a bit cheesy. I don't care.
