I just came across this song in youtube, the group is called U-Bahn, the song is Can you hear me... I think there's a lot of good groove in the drum[kit?] in the beginning, while the female singer, funny enough, reminds me of Grace Slick's style and tone...althought the song and the pic that they posted as a "video" of it definitely has nothing to do with late sixties, much more to do with early 80's...CIAO everybody:blah:

![]() Not sure why/how I picked this up, and it couldn't have been that long ago. I only own Bryter Later and it just passes for me, even though the guitar work is brilliant. One of those bigger in death than life artists, Nick left us with a studio work of three albums, selling a lot more of them after his death I'm sure, along with the 14 compilations that have been released. This is one of those posthumous works that just makes you wonder, how much have they screwed with these outtakes and remixed tracks? Are there any tracks anything close to what Nick would have done with them? On most tracks I think not. After all, Nick died in 1974 and we're using 2004 technology to create his work. Most of these tracks do nothing for me. All but one have appeared on previous compilations, but come on consumer, you need this version. I would think this album is for hardcore fans only, and I'm not one of them. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Voices Best Track - Three Hours Three hours from sundown Jeremy flies Hoping to keep The sun from his eyes East from the city And down to the cave In search of a master In search of a slave. Three hours from London Jacomo's free Taking his woes Down to the sea In search of a lifetime To tell when he's home In search of a story That's never been known. Three hours from speaking Everyone's flown Not wanting to be Seen on their own Three hours is needed To leave from them all Three hours to wonder And three hours to fall. Three hours from sundown Jeremy flies Hoping to keep The sun from his eyes East from the city And down to the cave In search of a master In search of a slave. 1) Rider On The Wheel ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sNav7zSBk0 2) Magic ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cYxr784lWE 3) River Man * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6zCmCIsoAE 4) Joey ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZLPZzPtbiw 5) Thoughts Of Mary Jane ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiZlAmHa7QI 6) Mayfair * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6EVnCvzo9w 7) Hanging On A Star * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu7EF4PtQgQ 8) Three Hours ** - the bongos make it work audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwt0ziD96zs 9) Clothes Of Sand ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBS2Xp35TP8 10) Voices * 11) Time Of No Reply * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN-glpHDFNA 12) Black Eyed Dog * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXAzXUrfLFw 13) Tow The Line * 3's - 0 2's - 6 1's - 7 Grade - 1.5 allmusic - 2.0

Music Head Wrote:from my library (cd) Someone, somewhere long ago bought me a Nick Drake album as a birthday present, 'Pink Moon' I think, and she said she was convinced I would really like it. I really didn't. Sorry. Not my thing.

Jerome Wrote:Someone, somewhere long ago bought me a Nick Drake album as a birthday present, 'Pink Moon' I think, and she said she was convinced I would really like it. I really didn't. Sorry. Not my thing. i have his 'five leaves' and 'bryter later',got them solely because i saw a Paul Weller interview once many years ago as he was praising Drake's nfluence on his 'wildwood' album(which i love), thought he may be an artist i should listen to...sadly, he was not...so i never bothered getting 'pink moon'... so, like MH, believe he was made out to be better than he was in death, and like Jerome said.."not for me!" just wish Gryphon was here to argue the point about Nick Drake as-as i recall he loves his music!

![]() VIOLENT FEMMES "the blind leading the naked" cd,1986. third album from the Femmes, has a more commercially sounding sound than their previous two releases, probably because it was produced by Talking Heads Jerry Harrison. quite mellow and melodic by their standards, some nice horn work on it also especially in the best track "i held her in my arms". the only dissapointment IMO on this is their cover of T-Rex's 'children of the revolution'. allmusic rate this one a converted 2.4, not far off my score, and if not for that stupid cover on it,probably would be up there with a love score. I LIKE THIS ALBUM. worst track: children of the revolution best track: i held her in my arms tracks: 1. old mother reagan ** 2. no milling ** 3. faith *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44bSCnOGp7o audio 4. breakin' hearts ** 5. special ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMUUGGBp18c audio 6. love and me make three ** 7. candlelight song ** 8. i held her in my arms *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyQ6tOd6C1s audio 9. children of the revolution * 10.good friend ** 11.heartache ** 12.cold canyon ** 13.two people ** 3s=2 2s=10 1s=1 rating: 2.1

![]() HUNTERS & COLLECTORS "demon flower" cd,1994. Aussie band from the 80s-90s, peaked commercially here,in europe and Canada around '86ish, but made some great albums after that date...this is one of those little gems IMO. has a distinct Crowded House sound from the early 90s, which is probably why i like it so much...very dark and brooding subject matter with heavy bass lines and still floating, whispy feel to the guitar laden tracks. pretty sure this would be my favourite H&C album as i always thought more of them being a singles band most of the time, and probably the only one whereby i do not dislike a single track. I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: back in the hole best track: tender tracks: 1. easy *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKZFjYoXTjw video 2. panic in the shade ** 3. back in the hole ** 4. the one and only you *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqQo1tlG8II audio 5. mr.bigmouth ** 6. courtship of america ** 7. drop in the ocean *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2RXYXdUUzs audio 8. new born ** 9. tender *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLBA0o7K3qA audio 10.desert where the heart is *** 11.betrayer ** 12.lady killer ** 3s=5 2s=7 1s=0 rating: 2.4
