yep, was 35 yrs ago that The King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley supposedly left us, here are a couple of tribute links that i believe are he greatest songs....
"if i can dream", written and recorded for the "68 comeback special" show, Elvis loved this track so much that he actually spent all night in the studio in total darkness singing this one over and over again till sunrise....it sums up everything he truly believed, also, some lyrics in this one were taken from speeches that Rev.Martin Luther King made before his terrible assassination!
it was this song that made Elvis want to get out of those stupid movie contracts, after singing stupid songs for the best part of a decade he decided he wanted to get his teeth back into performing again...much to the displeasure of Tom Parker.
probably the best vocal performance of his career IMO,and certainly one of the most underrated/forgotten tracks of his career also!

"hurt" atrack he was singing on stage through those last shows in 1977,
watch this one, even though he is overweight and in poor health he still manages to pullout all stops to reach the notes and hold them through the whole song with true proffessionalism...just goes to show he put everything he had into his concerts right up to the end!...awesome performance!

this is The King at "the top of his game" and who and what everyone else aspired to be like
this track is what 1950s Elvis Presley was all about, and also what 1950s rock n roll was in general...
great choreography in this one...took till Michael Jackson's early 1980s period to have better dance moves IMO...
this movie was also very good, not as good as King Creole, but certainly worth looking at as are all his pre 1962 movies

it was this song and "the wonder of you" that really brought Elvis his second lease of life on the charts after abysmal movie soundtracks throughout the 1960s...
one of his best sngles IMO, and classically covered by Fine Young Cannibals in the late 1980s.

quite easily my favourite Elvis track of all time...
it wasnt a big seller when originally released neither...think it made top 10 in UK, but only a dismal top 30 place in the US and here in Australia.
