JAPANDROIDS - Celebration Rock (May 2012)
![[Image: 41ViGN24dxL._SL500_AA300_.jpg]](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ViGN24dxL._SL500_AA300_.jpg)
Japandroids are Brian King - guitar and vocals and David Prowse - drums and vocals. They're from Vancouver, B.C. Canada and Celebration Rock is their second studio album release. The peculiar name came from Prowse's suggestion of Japanese Scream and King's suggestion of Pleasure Droids as names for the band. Thus the name from their two ideas.
This album is aptly titled as it is a celebration of rock ! The only downside is that it runs for a paltry 35 minutes!
There's an original fresh sound here but one can detect an obvious influence from classic rock artists. Very good song melodies with a lot of punch and energy ! A great listen !

Today I am having a stab at a CD I bought in Dubrovnik recently. 'Gadjo Manouche - Gypsy Jazz'. It's quite quirky music. Very vibey stuff. A kind of street jazz that really gets your feet tapping.
