I heard a song on the BBC Introducing 6 Music playlist the other week and I absolutely love it. They're called Fitz. and the song is called Caves. I love how it builds throughout. They've done a video for it too (the link below). It's pretty good too. Not bad for an independent band. In a similar vein to Mumford and Sons, Ben Howard, Bon Iver. Personally I think it's better than anything on the new Mumford and Sons album. What do you think?

Not bad, I think I like the other video for Maps better, but only had one listen to each. I still like Mumford and Sons better because they have more of a bluesy style and Fitz is more a psych-folk style.

I like the Maps video too. I prefer the first Mumford and Sons album to the new one. Sign No More is amazing, just feel that Babel is a little predictable in places. Still some great songs on it though.

On a Mumford & Sons note, I wish they didn't take the easy route with their 2nd album. If they showed some balls, it could have been great.

Completely agree, feels like an attempt to do Sigh No More 2 rather than something new.

I WILL WAIT...incredible song!!!!
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!
Whether it is better or not im not sure. Compared to Sigh No More, I think Fitz. (and anyone else) will have to produce something extra special...but, I certainly think 'Caves' is more exciting, and refreshing to listen to, than the Mumford of late.

I WILL WAIT is indeed a great tune. I'm very much of the opinion that Babel is not a patch on Sigh No More - Babel feels like a safe bet for them whereas Sigh No More literally blew me away, especially in terms of it's production. And to be honest, I find myself skipping tracks on Babel. Sigh No More I can listen to all the way through, I like an album which appears to have no filler. I'd say 50% of Babel feels like filler material to me... but maybe its a grower.
I like the Fitz. video - I like the way it displays a focussed narrative, and I really like the way the song builds towards the end. Nice production too, interesting.
I agree that Mumford and Sons do display a different sub-genre for sure - but I'm keen to see where Fitz. go as I quite like the style, it feels a little different in feel to anything I've heard of late.
I'm not sure that I would say either were better, just maybe a different take on a genre.

Edward, have you listened to Maps by Fitz. too? It's a little darker than Caves and has another cool video. If you like Caves you should definitely check it out.

Almost anything is better than M&S. They are just way too overrated. If you start dismantling their material you will find very little substance.
