I love me some Jefferson Airplane, but once they changed to Starship the music started to tank. Having said that, Jefferson Starship had one song that I always loved called Love Too Good with Grace Slick on vocals. The rest of the Starship stuff I can do without... Here's a link for Love Too Good:

decent track
never had a problem with Grace's vocals
once they went Starship, it was the material, plus when someone else did vocals that turned me off

Couldn't be any worse than his last one for me. This ones all Dylan, vocal, guitar, some
harmonica, stripped down. A couple of love tracks. Biggest down side is none of the tracks are
originals. Traditional songs with a Dylan arrangement. Wasn't familiar with any but the worst
track, that stupid Froggie song. My dad used to sing that and it drove me crazy. Even I knew
frogs didn't go around courtin' mice. Although the critics were back on board with this album,
it was not well accepted by the music buyers, only reaching #51 here and #18 in the UK. Low by
Dylan standards and still a downward trend. And we're back to no links for a Dylan album.

BACHMAN-TURNER OVERDRIVE "bto's greatest" cd,1986.

got this one very recently on the strength of their two singles "you aint seen nothin yet" and "takin care of business", would have thought there was a lot more fuel in the tank of these guys after knowing those two tracks...but alas, the tank is only half-full(or is that half empty- i never can tell!)
a lot of average rock/radio friendly tracks here, nothing really outstanding bar two tracks, but i have discovered a great track here in "can we all come together" which is my new favourite one by BTO...
i think Music Head was right to a degree with his "were big,in canada,on saturdays, after lunch" comment the other week ...just an average band, average talent, playing to their limitations(Huey Lewis springs to mind as another average artist who plays to his limitations IMO)...
all up though, not a bad album, listenable, good driving music, but as i said, very little in the tank!

Roger's second solo album. Could have done without the nonsense between tracks but that helps
make it yet another concept album. Vegetable Billy calls in to the radio station with his
robotic voice. Without the lyric sheet you would never know what he is saying. Good enough
songs but nothing I love. Roger takes his jabs at the politics of the day, includng Maggie and
Ronnie, whose sole purpose was to bring nuclear destruction upon the planet. Billy will save
it. He is upset that brother Benny lost his coal mining job. Capitalism is to blame. He fools
the world into thinking ICBM's are about to be detonated around the world, while somehow
deactivating the military's power to retaliate. I'm just glad the planet was saved. The album
reached #25 in the UK and #50 in the US.

His father, Eric Fletcher Waters ( 'The Fletcher Memorial Home' from The Final Cut) died at Anzio in the second world war. He never quite got over that fact.
