yep, this was Bob's first 'electric' album, hard to imagine the hatred and resentment this would have caused back in the day, but it did, yet it still managed to be his first to crack the US top10 as an album..those guys over there were still backwards in regards to Dylan, was much bigger in the UK and here in Australia until then...
i checked Music Head's score for this one...2.8, mine works out 2.7, with me giving one extra track as a like score instead of a love and that track is "its alright ma(im only bleeding)", we also disagree on worst and best tracks here, his worst "outlaw blues",mine "on the road again"...MH's favourite track is the brilliant "its all over now,baby blue", like me it would have been so so difficult to choose a favourite im sure, but this time round i gotta go for "gates of eden" for a change...
i also dont think Dylan ever topped the word-play he 'rapped'(yes rapped) on 'suberrranean homesick blues"...a bunch of gibberish throwaway one-liners that all make sense when put together in a way that no one but His Bobness could do...also interesting to note that another so-called legendary poey from that period in Allan Ginsberg is in the video for that one.
its impossible to say any Dylan album is superior to every other one, but of the 60s-70s albums this is my favourite( of the 80s-90s its "infidels",00s-10s it has to be "tempest" for me)
great album by the greatest word-smith in musical history...
and what is it with his 115th dream,what happened to the other 114 dreams??(maybe Paul Weller borrowed 22 of them for his 22dreams album LOL)

Yes I did, but it took a little bit of getting used to. Still great quality though.

as you know im a recent convert to Jethro Tull, so i got both TAAB and TAAB2 around the same time so i guess i have a different perspective on it than you,Music Head and everyone else here, and personally right now i actually prefer TAAB2 as a complete work of art...great stuff!!!

I grew up with my older brother playing 'Aqualung' morning, noon and night. Drove my mom nuts. But from a musical perspective I think 'Heavy Horses' is Tull at their best.

one of the top ten albums of all time IMO...the music is spot on,lyrical content is superb and to cap it off it has one of my favourite album covers of all time also...

Telegraph Road is also one of the finest recordings ever made, what is it...14minutes long or something and it just builds up and up for the entire song...a perfect song IMO

Heavy Horses is my favourite Tull album, pretty sure that was the one you recommended for me to get first Jerome...glad you did, ive missed out on these guys for what seems like a lifetime...

just recently saw a performance on 'studio' channel from somewhere in Europe probably recorded in the 80s maybe...awesome stuff, absolutely proffessional as it gets on stage IMO
