What Are You Listening To?
Jerome Wrote:Neil Young - After the Goldrush. Heard a choir singing the title track on the radio the other night. Fantastic version. Reminded myself that I have to revisit this one. Love that Tell Me Why track. Birds is another classic.

you have redeemed yourself today Jerome, all is forgiven!

She does indeed. She always will. BTW the first time I have seen a Crystal Baschet played live ever! Great clip SteveO. Let the good times roll.....

Oh no you don't - you're not getting off that easy. He who takes Pink Floyd's name in vain will be dealt with......
Jokes aside - Dolly Parton's classic retort many years ago, when asked why she looked so cheap - 'Honey, it takes an awful lot of money to look this cheap'

OK Steve this is not quite a choral piece, although it does have a choir in it. Spine tingling stuff - from Vangelis's 'Reprise' album. Makes what's left of my hair stand on end. http://youtu.be/xya07CrJgrU

NEIL YOUNG "decade" cd,1977.

originally released in 1977 as a three album vinyl set...later released on cd as a two disc set.
containing thirty five 'essential' Neil Young tracks from his first decade in music(66-76),theres tracks from Buffalo Springfield,Crazy Horse,CSN&Y,NY solo and the Stills-Young Band...
this is pretty much a complete 'best of' set, i cant think of any other tracks that would sum up that period of his career that should be on here, most of the tracks are obviously available on studio albums, however there are also a couple of early 1970s b'sides and so-called 'rarities' on here as well, all fit together nicely in this package which is a very good way for someone new to Neil young and his music to get all the early classics in one tight collection.
its so difficult to pick one solitary track from this collection as my favourite even though i have always said 'like a hurricane' is my favourite, but this time im going to go for a little rarity gem called "love like a rose"(you guys should also take a listen to tracks 29 and 30,which are equally as brilliant IMO)
i am only 'linking' several of his lesser known tracks here, all of which are beautiful tracks...
this was actually the first album of his i bought back in the late 1990s, i was blown away by these songs and purchased his then next studio album(silver and gold) and the rest is history as far as im concerned, i was hooked on all things Neil Young...long may you run Neil!!!!!
