![]() ![]() PROCOL HARUM "shine on brightly" cd, 1968 Procol's second album... the cover on the left was the original UK cover(and cd cover),the one on the right was the original US cover...i think i prefer the US cover. i dont know what to say here that is going to be positive???.... i guess i think that for the most part that this is boring dated material that was probably fine back in 1968 but isnt really relevant or interesting today, that saidi do find a couple of tracks quite interesting in the second and third parts of the five piece track "in held twas in i", the rest i can take or leave it... I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: in held twas in i:look to your soul best track: in held twas in i:in the autumn of my madness tracks: 1. quite rightly so * 2. shine on brightly ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCgBRDmK3JE audio 3. skip softly ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xjb5SS9jqdc audio 4. wish me well * 5. rambling on * 6. magdalene * 7. in held twas in i:glimpses of nirvana * 8. in held twas in i:twas teatime at the circus ** 9. in held twas in i:in the autumn of my madness *** 10.in held twas in i:look to your soul * 11.in held twas in i:grande finale * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnvTugf4gsA audio of full five part track 3s=1 2s=3 1s=7 rating: 1.4

![]() Over to the new cd stack. Never got into these guys. This is the only thing I own, and the only thing I want to own. Thought I should give them a shot and picked this up for $7 at Wal Mart. Any Best Of set should come out with a better grade than this did. Only one track I love, and four I don't like. Three of those are horrible covers, with the worst being Zeppelins Hey Hey What Can I Do. Darius Rucker doing Robert Plant just doesn't work. Darius Rucker Has transformed himself into a country artist now. That doesn't work either. Still haven't figured out how they managed to pull that off. Anyway Hootie had a nice run from their first four albums which most of these tracks are from. They only had one more album after that. Their first two albums topped the chart, then they tailed off. Highest charting single was a #6 with Only Wanna Be With You. This album topped out at #62. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Hey Hey What Can I Do Best Track - Let Her Cry 1) Hold My Hand ** video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoW3bqnr7tw 2) Only Wanna Be With You ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glP0NIHAyhU 3) Time ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTLeIksXX08 4) Let Her Cry *** video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aVHLL5egRY 5) Not Even The Trees ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c2ZccyQn8M 6) Old Man & Me ** video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REGPO7qnzAI 7) Hey Hey What Can I Do * 8) Tucker's Town ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28YYO2wQgmw 9) I Go Blind ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tyWHKJ4BbyI 10) Sad Caper ** video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UvD4sE7Hgk 11) Be The One * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeZ63yUDWko 12) Use Me * 13) I Will Wait ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obDatZbOsxE 14) Innocence ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8qxhJnzkik 15) Space ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqoqn25m92k 16) Only Lonely ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0C1SXUxzCs 17) Goodbye Girl * video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFsOEtlvTow 3's - 1 2's - 12 1's - 4 Grade - 1.8 allmusic - 2.7

![]() BUDDY GUY "skin deep" cd,2008 another of my purchaese last year.... got this one after i saw a spritely 76yo buddy perform at one of our festivals last summer... man this guy can rock...Clapton describes him as 'the greatest blues player ever', thats a big deal coming from him! this one was recorded when Buddy was a much younger 72.... im not really into 'the blues' much but this guy pushes all the right buttons for me, i love him! best track here for me is the only non blues sounding track on the album, but best of track could have been one of about four or five(with two others of those great ones posted also)... love this one as much as the other one i own,and he was 75 when he recorded that one also... just one thought keeps going over in my head when i hear any old guy still rocking...who the heck is going to be doing that out of the current bunch of bands out there now? unfortunately for me i really cant think of any except maybe Jack White in one form or another great album by one of rock musics most influential yet underrated talents! I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: i found happiness best track: skin deep tracks: 1. best damn fool ** 2. too many tears ** 3. lyin' like my dog *** 4. show me the money *** 5. everytime i sing the blues *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yi7oxITx4Y0 audio 6. out of the woods ** 7. hammer and a nail *** 8. thats my home *** 9. skin deep *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UccVUT8Q988 live 10.who's gonna fill these shoes *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_5QjDw89QU audio 11.smell the funk ** 12.i found happiness ** 3s=7 2s=5 1s=0 rating: 2.6 or 8.6/10
