BUDDY GUY "buddy's baddest:the best of buddy guy" cd, 1999
not really what i woun]ld call a bst of set as this one only encompasses material he released in the 1990s,with four of the tracks here being previously unreleased...
i have two of Buddy's albums, love both of them, unfortunately this one isnt as good therefore i can only assume his 1990s output wasnt the best stage of his long and illustrious career...
anyway, this guy is a great blues-rock man IMO, even though im not really a big fan of the genre...
the album rates a 2.2 from me...4 loves, 7 likes and 2 dislikes, below are the ones i love for your listening pleasure

KISS "alive II" cd/vinyl, 1977
obviously with the title, this is KISS second live set,and my least favourite of the four they have released, this is partially due to the fact that this one has been over produced taking away the raw ragged feel of a KISS live set..
too many overdubs on here, the crowd applause is way too high and often lingers well into the songs,
album also has five studio tracks on it, recorded around the same time as the album with two of the new ones scoring a love rating...the first "rocket ride" is an Ace Frehley guitar driven track....the second is a straight foreward typical KISS song sung by Paul Stanley called "anyway you want it"
the two links below are for those tracks

^ I saw KISS here in '77 with Cheap Trick...my ears were plugged for days !!!!....great concert and stage show !
They're here again this summer...their second concert in three years so the reception from Halifax is very respectable...40,000 at the outdoor concert and iside this year...10,000. Their live albums are fabulous !...however I'll pass this time !
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!

KISS are past their use-by date now SteveO, they toured here at the beginning of the year, they were only on stage for a little over an hour...guessing they are too old to do what they used to do!, and "no" i didnt see them on this tour for that reason, its the only tour of theirs down here that i have missed

Todays lesson - how to blend electric guitar & piano perfectly in a rock track - this is beyond brilliant. Sends shivers down my spine when I listen to it. Incredible. http://youtu.be/3wtdFf5QLFw
