STEVE MILLER BAND "sailor" cd, 1968
Steve Miller Bands second album and the last one with Boz Scaggs in the band, which incidenatly, i didnt know he was in the band till a couple of days ago!?!?
i find the album to be a mix od psychadelia and blues/blues rock....its good, and ive only heard it twice now.
its much better than that "abracadabra" crap that was on the radio when i was a teenager!
thanks for the recommendation guys, appreciate it!

THE DOORS - Strange Days (1967)
This album was the second studio album released by The Doors. Possibly a few songs on here that didn't make it on their phenomenal debut album earler in the year. Highlights for me are People Are Strange, Moonlight Drive (nice slide guitar by Robbie Krieger), Love Me Two Times and When the Music's Over ( a ten minute spoken word intro with a slow build up to a loud Morrison vocal...similar to The End). Not a bad album but not a classic by no means like their first one. Krieger's guitar work is phenomenal ...one of the underrated guitarists of rock IMHO. Jim's vocals are excellent also...one of the great voices of rock whose life ended too soon.

KISS "dynasty" cd/vinyl, 1979
Kiss' eleventh album since 1974(thats if you count the four solo albums)...
the Stones got the disco bug with "emotional rescue", and so did these guys with "i was made for loving you" from this one...which incidently became their biggest selling single ever peaking at #11 Stateside, #1 in Canada and #2 here...one other single was released off this one in "sure know something" which also made the top10 here, but only just scraped into the top50 in the other two above mentioned countries....
there is still a bit of debate amongst fans whether drummer Peter Criss bowed out after this one even though he is credited as appearing on their 1980 follow up album "unmasked"...Paul and Gene insist he was still there for that one, but Peter has stated he left prior to that...and his image does appear on that cover also????
best track here for me is "2000 man",an Ace Frhely sung track, which was written by Jagger/Richards...not sure they even recorded it as either they did and Kiss did it with thier own sound or it was written for them, im not sure!
all up though, a very good album for KISS IMO, and i own most of them!
