Straight off the new rack. Doesn't get much better than 5 love tracks from a new studio album. Wrote
these guys off at first because I didn't care for the video for the first single of We Are Young. But
the song kept growing on me. Then when Some Nights came out I was captured. That was some production
for the song and video. Third single was Carry On, another gem. Then I finally crack the album and
two more love tracks pop up. I am now a fan. This is the groups second album. When it came out I
remember seeing their first album in the discount bin at Wal-Mart. Passed it up and I don't think
I'll be finding it there again. A lot of orchestra on these tracks which I'm a sucker for. Nice
harmonies, some choir, all the things I like in music. Only thing I don't like is some vocoder type
stuff which annoys me, especially on my worst track which still gets a like score. I'll let it go
this time, but don't do it on the next album. The band took down 2 grammys this year (nominated for
6) including that kiss of death Best New Artist. Hoping it don't jinx them.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

back to FUN. "some nights" album....

got a similar score from me when i posted it also...great stuff IMO, and i agree with the Queen similarites in the vocals on the album, especially on the intro like you stated....a great,great album IMO, wasnt aware at the time they had another album which puzzles me as how can they be nominated as "best new artist" when technically, they are not new if theyve had a previous release?

Thought they lasted longer than 3 albums. Probably because there was 10 years between the first and
last. Like their debut better than this one, which had a different lineup other than vocals. This is
the last and I wouldn't have followed up anyway. Nothing above a like for me with 5 that don't even
make that. Talking Heads Jerry Harrison produces this. After the album received dismal sales and
reviews they called it quits. It did not hit the chart but the single of Rainy Days made #93.

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM

3s=0
2s=7
1s=5

youre 1.6 is correct though....

was never a fan of these guys except the first couple of singles they released, much prefer the band that the other half of The Beat became: Fine Young Cannibals
