Emerson Lake and Palmer - Works Volume 1 - probably the finest overall production in my collection. Elements of classical music, jazz, rock, folk and electronica all rolled into one album. I have always wondered what album I would choose if I could only choose one. This one would certainly be in the final list.

OK - I have to admit although I currently live in Ireland, I am not a great fan of their traditional music. (sounds to much like SA traditional music) - but I thought I would post a link to a clip of the Corrs. Their covers of other musician's material is better than their own stuff. Surprised that there were 5 tracks on here I had not heard, all but 1 passed. That Rain Dance didn't work. The only one of those on the album though. Nice liner notes of a bio of the band. Only thing missing is what albums the tracks are from. Big downer that Shakin' All Over is not on here. But that was before Burton Cummings took over vocals. These tracks run from 69-74, the bands high period. A pretty decent retrospective. I have 4 studio albums by these guys on vinyl, but needed an overview for the cd collection. Yes they were that good. American Woman is a classic. With 5 other love tracks, the album just misses a love score.
