THE JAM "beat surrender-ep" 1982
The Jam's final single release prior to Paul Weller disbanding them...
single/ep shows where Weller's music direction was heading, from the soul of the title track, the jazzy-overtones of "shopping" thru soul classics covered on the second disc...Chi-Lites "stoned out of my mind", Edwyn Starr's "war" and Curtis Mayfield's "move on up"...
his Chi'Lites cover is better than the original IMO,as is their version of "move on up"
single failed to chart here, but it did give The Jam a third straight #1 hit in the UK, making them the only act in UK chart history to disband after their final three singles reached #1, also gave them their fourth #1 single(out of five #1's) to enter the charts out there at #1, which was a record for back then.

Benny was a comedian in the UK, his style was quite bawdy to say the least...
over the years he released a few humorous singles, none were better than this, and none sold as well as this one...
"a" side tells the story of milkman Ernie who wants the love of a customer but he has a rival...two-tonne ted from teddington(who drives the bakers van)...a comedy classic IMO...
"b" side is a stupid nonsense track, but its so stupid, its brilliant...

STING "russians-ep(1986 aussie tour edition)" 1986
i already posted the single vinyl disc version here, but this one has two discs and a gatefold sleeve to-boot!
this contained an extra disc of material to coincide with his 1986 tour here(which i saw inPerth), and to also coincide with his "bring on the night" concert movie from the same year...
as already posted, love the title track,like his rendition of "gabriels message"...two other tracks on here, a live medley from the concert movie, and also another live track in "i burn for you"...
