I'm new to the forums, and am looking for some new artists and songwriters to listen to.
To get an idea of what might be good for me, I'm listing some of my favorite artists.

a lot of Radiohead fans also like Portishead...
im not a fan of either...
Portishead's "dummy" album is probably their best known one though....!

Welcome aboard MD, Mars! There are so many bands and artists out there now! Try Anathema , Weather Systems album is very good! Glad you like Arcade Fire!!!!! Have you listened to Walk off The Earth band?

And for awhile I have been looking for a group that has incorporated a full-fledged choir intermixed with rock and alternative music, do you know of any groups like that?
