Former member of Drive By Truckers. Left them in 2007 on good terms, to front his own projects. This is the second of those. Recomended to me by
our old friend Tiggi I believe. Alabama boy joined the Truckers in 2001 and stayed with them for 3 albums. No details as to his parting so I
guess he just got restless and wanted the vocal spotlight which he had to share them. Some Truckers flavor on a few of these tracks but more of an alt sound I think. Assuming the 400 Unit reference in the title is the name of the band but that didn't last long as all other albums just say Jason Isbell. That name is also the name of the Psych Ward at an Alabama hospital. Horns appear on one track here but other than that, just alt rock for me, with some Tom Petty vibes coming through on the harder tracks. Only love one track, Cigarettes And Wine which leans to more of an Eagles sound. A little long but it still works. The album made it to #131 here and I don't see any singles.

That's from iamamiwhoami (aka Jonna Lee) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iamamiwhoami

Interesting stuff but should have had an intro "member" that would help others to find out about Jonna and not be frustrated and overlook a very creative artist.

That was terrible. At this point I'm just trying to figure out why I have 2 of their albums. Haven't gotten to the second one yet, so I guess the jury is out on the group. As to this album, it sucks, only liked 4 tracks. The bands biggest hit comes from this second album. Right Here Right Now was a #2 hit here, #31 UK. I would say this song has carried them, after being used in several ad campaigns. There were 3 other singles released, which were bigger in the UK than they were here. Won an MTV award in '91 for Best New Band. I thought this was a US band until now that I am reading this. They are calling this album indie-dance. Didn't know that was a genre, but it is now. The album hit #6 in the UK and #25 in the US. Can't believe allmusic gives this a 2.4, but it does say it is the high point of the bands career. What were they smoking? Better yet what was I smoking when I bought this. Here's hoping their next album scores higher than this one.

i watched your favourite track,i wasnt sure whether i'd heard it before but the title sounded familliar. heard it, knew it and still liked it after all these years(wouldnt buy it though)

"right here right mow" reached #39 here, the album #27(spent 7months in our top40).
one of the other tracks you liked was also a single here in "international bright young thing",that reached #83.

thats the only chart action they ever had here.
