Their 1st album, hit #26 US, #1 Australia, #14 UK, #1 best selling, 8X Platinum Australia
Charting U.S. Singles - Look What You've Done #37, Are You Gonna Be My Girl #29, Cold Hard Bitch #55

Under tremendous pressure from my brother to love this. If not for that throw away Take It Or Leave It, it would have made it. Still a damn good
album for a debut. Never followed up on them, but my brother says I didn't miss anything. Only 3 albums with a 3 year gap between each. Straight
up rock n roll for the most part here, almost a throwback to 60's-70's rock. I can even hear some Beatles/Stones thrown in. Not surprising as
the band lists them as influences along with the Who, Faces and AC/DC. All from the old mans record collection. They even got an offer from the
Stones as opening act on their 2003 Australian tour. Traditional rock band instruments on most tracks which is always good to hear. Billy
Preston gets a keyboard appearance on 2 tracks. Looks like the band is still active but nothing released since 2009. If they show up in the
discount bin, I'm in.

Pink Floyd - The Final Cut - don't care what the critics say - this is an absolute masterpiece. Chills me to the bone. The only track I have a problem with is Not Now John, which to me just does not fit with the rest of the album. Lyrics are beyond brilliant.

i agree Jerome...
"not now john" was a single, i think it was written that way, thats why it doesnt fit...
same goes for "another brick pt.II" IMO.
i really like "the final cut" also and im not really a PF fan, again, "the division bell" is still my favourite PF album and most fans would probably disagree with me there!

I disagree 'grumpy old man' - AMLOR was very new-age orientated, and I like quite a few of the tracks although I have to admit there is some crap 'filler' there as well. TDB - class from start to finish. Final Cut has the most chilling lyrics I have ever heard - scathing, but true. Particularly like the track where he describes his mother at a memorial service for his late father. Piano and strings are just brilliant in this piece. A huge debt owed to Michael Kamen for his orchestration on this album. The Wall is about Roger. The Final Cut is about his father. Roger was digging really deep when he put this one together and taking one hell of a risk as well. The record company execs must have been horrified. They were hoping for a cash cow (al la the Wall part II) - he gave them a dose of reality.

Oh yes - the one no-one bothers with is Rick Wright's 'Broken China' - left of centre for sure, and for many far too 'out there', but considering the concept it's based on, it's one of the better solo albums of the Floyd members.

PAUL & LINDA McCARTNEY "paul mccartney archive collection-ram" cd boxset 2012

ive just been listening to disc two of Macca's "archives collection" boxset of his 1971 "ram" album...
boxset has four discs, the first "ram", the second songs that didnt make it on to the album, the third "ram-percy thrillington version" and the fourth a dvd.
this second disc contains eight tracks, three of which have been officially released previously...
"another day", his debut solo "a" side, "oh woman oh why" "b" side to that one, and "little woman love", "b" side to "mary had a little lamb"
the other five tracks include two rocker's from Macca including an 8minute plus track in "rode all night", and two folky tracks...
and two instrumentals "great cock and seagull race" and "sunshine sunshine"...i like the seagull one, dont like the sunshine much!
all up this is good stuff from a guy who still had something to prove to the world in the 1970s.
its probably not an interesting set for anyone who is not a mac-ophile, but i am, and i like it!
if i had to pick one of the newly released tracks as favourite it would be "rode all night"
