Now moving onto an old classic - Blue Moves by Elton John. Some really great stuff on this. 'Tonight' is just a superb example of how you orchestrate a song. James Newton Howard did a magnificent job on this. Cage the Songbird is another beaut on this album - about the French songstress Edith Piaf. Have some of her stuff lying around somewhere as well - great for a change of pace every now and then. Must dig it out again some time soon but it will probably take me a week to find it amongst all the other discs in this wonderfully disorganized place called home.

For some or other reason I have been playing 'Harvest Moon' over and over for the last couple of days. Something I never really do. I normally change discs fairly frequently, but this album is just getting under my skin at the moment - has some really ethereal moments to it - something I did not expect from a NY album. The more I listen to it the more I am hearing. And although I have had it for a long time now, it's almost like I am hearing it for the first time. It's musically very simple, but quite 'spellbinding' at the same time. Going to move on to Prairie Wind later (if I can find it!)

Could not find Prairie Wind but did come across a disc I bought in Paris a while ago called Studio - Bandes Originales De Films. A compilation of movie soundtracks. Some wonderful stuff on this including 'Calling You' from the movie 'Bagdad Cafe'.

Enigma - The Cross of Changes - A duo (French I think) who create these esoteric soundscapes with a combination of different influences, styles and instruments. Like them in small doses.
