Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit - Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit

Fabulous solo release for ex-Drive-by-Trucker.

I always have half an ear out for quality recordings (by which I mean how well recorded they are), and this is a cracker. Sounds like the band were on fire, and this is an excellent set of songs.

Recommended (if you like this sort of thing)...

Not a big ELO fan, but I nearly always enjoy their stuff when I play it...

Live Yes disc from the post-Going For The One tour. Used to be a big fan of this band in my youth. Less so now, but I'll always re-visit their albums.

Horslips - The Tain

CMB1888 mentioned this lot a while back, and it's prompted me to investigate...

This is Celtic-Folk-Prog-Rock in one neat Irish package. Won't be to everyones' taste. It'd be a cliche to point out the Jethro Tull / early Genesis comparisons, so I have...

This is apparently a concept album based around an ancient Oirish myth.

Good album.

slow burn by atreyu!

an excellent building song that starts with awesome piano and then builds to screaming lyrics!

also

teeth as big as piano keys by chiodos

they are a strange band- their titles make absolutely no sense and have no correlation to the music or lyrics (usually).
