Bad Company - Bad Company - when I want to listen to solid, straight, four beats to the bar, foot to the floor, rock 'n roll - this album is my number one choice. Simon Kirke worked wonders with a basic drum kit. One of the best quality recordings from that era.

![]() BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN "greetings from asbury park,nj" cd, 1973 career stats: studio albums.....18 singles...............72 this album: #60 US, #71 AU, #41 UK singles: "blinded by the light"...........no chart action anywhere "spirit in the night"..............no chart action anywhere back to the xmas giftcard purchases, this time its the debut album from The Boss. apart from the latest dumbass album "high hopes" this is the only album of his i have never owned(until now!)... ive listened to this a lot since purchasing it in early january and love it, so much so that it is one of my favourite albums of his now. album features the E-Street Band although they are not credited on the cover or disc. album features a good mix of rockers and acoustic type material. on this one is the original version of "blinded by the light" which was successfully covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band a few years later, love the cover but love Springsteens rough and ragged version also, i think i still prefer the cover though. his lyrics on this one are as good as anything he has done since then, which shows the quality of the guy even at a young age. favourite track here is an acoustic one even though i probably would have been equally happy picking one of about four or five others... its strange though, because when i went to amazon.com to copy/paste the coverart i read a few reviews of this one from several of their customers, their comments ranged and varied greatly, from "his best album ever" through "solid rough and ready rock and roll" to "the worst album ever made"...so i guess its one of those albums you either love or loathe, me, i love it! I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: growin up best track: lost in the flood tracks: 1. blinded by the light *** 2. growin up ** 3. mary queen of arkansas *** 4. does this bus stop at 82nd street *** 5. lost in the flood *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h9Zki_4e98 audio 6. the angel *** 7. for you *** 8. spirit in the night ** 9. its hard to be a saint in the city ** 3s=6 2s=3 1s=0 rating: 2.7 or 8.9/10

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle (1973)
![]() This is the Boss' second album after his debut Greetings from Asbury Park,N.J. (as previously reviewed brilliantly by Crazy Horse) ^ . It is the first album with the newly assembled E Street Band. Somewhat of an obscure album as Born to Run , his next one, brought Springsteen to global prominence! The album clocks in at over 46 minutes with only seven tracks, four of them over seven minutes! Interesting that his first three albums were rated with five stars by AllMusic! I love this album!...such a great story teller!!!! Here are some tracks from this great album! Mostly recent live tracks! Videos from 1973 are of poor quality! [video=youtube;4eNa3W2RBrg]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eNa3W2RBrg[/video] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnJX7dxyGwM - 4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SVY43TbibY - E Street Shuffle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDQm3EqBd1k - Incident on 57th Street http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6JLWmiyF4I - Kitty's Back ( live from Perth! Are you in the crowd Crazy mate?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XGMRllMjT0 - New York City Serenade http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAUrofM9DDs - Wild Billy's Circus Story When released, the album was greeted with critical acclaim and has been referred to in The Rolling Stone Album Guide as Springsteen's "first triumph" but sales were slow.[SUP][10][/SUP][SUP][11][/SUP] Allmusic rated the album with 5 stars pointing to the second side of the album as a "flawless piece of music" and of the album as a whole as "one of the greatest albums in the history of rock & roll".[SUP][2][/SUP] Ken Emerson with Rolling Stone noted that even with an "occasional weak spot or an awkward transition" the album "works spectacularly".[SUP][9][/SUP] Robert Christgau rated it an A- and called the music "a funky, vivacious rock and roll that's too eager and zany ever to be labeled tight..."[SUP][8][/SUP] Sputnikmusic gave it a 4.5 star rating and described it as "a grand fusion of nostalgic Rock 'n' Roll and soulful R&B".[SUP][11]( from Wikipedia)[/SUP]
