![]() AMERICA "hat trick" cd, 1973 career stats: studio albums...16 singles.............45 this album: #28 US,#24 AU, #41 UK singles: "muskrat love"....#67 US "rainbow song"...no chart action "green monkey"..no chart action i have America's first five albums and a best of... this one is their third album, thus the title 'hat-trick'... after two pretty good sellers with big hits on them this one failed miserably as an album and with singles... the first half of the album is decent enough, very CSN for the most part with their lovely harmonies and melodies, but alas, on the second half, they lose their way completely for me...very few harmonies and a lack of melodies on the tracks, in fact, it sounds like theyre either going through the motions of either having to make an album or simply thought that whatever they record would be a hit. personally, im not a huge America fan, i like them, well some of their material anyway, this one isnt up to par by any means for a band who made two very good albums prior to this one! I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: willow tree lullaby best track: rainbow song tracks: 1. muskrat love ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbPiUFBONSo live 2. wind wave * 3. shes gonna let you down ** 4. rainbow song ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBpS9GYAhXA audio 5. submarine ladies ** 6. its life * 7. hat trick * 8. molten love * 9. green monkey * 10.willow tree lullaby * 11. goodbye * 3s=0 2s=4 1s=7 my rating: 1.3 converted to 2/5 "allmusic": 1.3 converted from 2/5

![]() AMERICA "holiday" cd, 1974 album stats: #3 US, #25 AU singles: "tin man"............#4 US, #46 AU "lonely people"....#5 US. America's fourth album... after the debarcle of "hat trick" they enlited George Martin to turn their fortunes around... he did for the most part, there distinct Beatle-esque moments on this one, especially on "you" and "what does it matter". elsewhere are two big hit singles in "lonely people" and my favourite America song ever in "tin man", which i also believe Jerome also loves immensely. this album is a lot better than the previous one,on par with their first album "america", but not as good as their second one "homecoming"... all up though, not too bad IMO I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track:mad dog best track: tin man tracks: ....minitune(intro) 1. tin man *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3fI0mLz3ks live 1970s 2. another try * 3. lonely people ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRDnEqW1vAc live(same show as previous link) 4. glad to see you ** 5. mad dog * 6. hollywood ** 7. baby its up to you ** 8. you ** 9. old man took * 10.what does it matter ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKz9QzKTtYg audio 11.in the country * 3s=1 2s=6 1s=4 my rating: 1.7 or converted to 5.6/10 "allmusic": 2.1 converted from 7/10

![]() AMERICA "hearts" cd,1975 album stats: #4 US, #17 AU singles: "sister golden hair".........#1 US, #28 AU "daisy jane"...................#20 US "woman tonight"............#44 US America's fifth studio set, like the fourth this was produced by George Martin... again, like the other albums i own of these guys, a few tracks i dont like, mainly due to the same reasons in that theres little happening, few melodies, and lack of their good harmonies.but also as usual, there is one great track that i love and a couple that come close....man i hate it when artists have the talent to be great but seldom live up to the expectations! album was a million seller in the US, and according to wikipedia failed to chart in the UK or Canada...i can understand the UK to a degree because they were into the whole glam-rock thing around that time, but Canada...they should have embraced these guys IMO! this album contains my second favourite America song in "sister golden hair",love that thang dawg!, another track that comes close to being my favourite here is the beautiful "old virginia"... other than that, this is run of the mill/ho-hum America! I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: the story of a teenager best track: sister golden hair tracks: 1. daisy jane * 2. half a man * 3. midnight * 4. bell tree * 5. old virginia *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLGBll1T8nQ audio 6. people in the valley ** 7. company ** 8. woman tonight ** 9. the story of a teenager * 10.sister golden hair *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzUQZw3wfro live on "midnight special" 11.tomorrow ** 12.seasons ** 3s=2 2s=5 1s=5 my rating: 1.7 or converted to 5.5/10 "allmuisc": 1.8 converted from 6/10

Kid Rock â everything a bunch of other dudes and dudettes ![]() Artist Recording History studio albums - 9 compilation albums - 1 live albums - 1 ep's - 2 singles - 39 videos - 39 AMA Awards - 3 BMA Awards - 3 CMT Awards - 1 from my library (cd) ![]() Producer: Kid Rock, John Travis 4th album - #4 US, #179 UK, #79 Australia, #17 Canada Singles - Welcome 2 The Party ----------I Am The Bullgod ----------Bawitdaba - #104 US, #41 UK ----------Cowboy - #82 US, #36 UK, #52 Australia ----------Only God Knows Why - #19 US ----------Wasting Time Gone is the stripped down rap of his debut, replaced by rock/rap with a punch. Some heavy riffs on this one, but the Kid is still rapping for the most part. I think there was 1 track that didn't include a rap (only God Knows Why). Comes out a far sight better than the debut for me. Three love tracks make that happen. This album remains Kid's best selling, going 11x platinum. Surprised at that as none of the 6 singles did that well. This album is considered to be his last rap album, then he moved on to be more rock, so this is the transition album. Atlantic Records was reluctant to sign him but after hearing 2 tracks (I Got One For Ya and Somebody's Gotta Feel This), label heads jumped on board. Still a little raunchy at times, but the raps are cleaned up considerably from that debut album. The Kid was headed for the mainstream. Ironically his sales would decline. A visionary if ever there was one. I am amazed at how few people outside of Africa like reggae. In SA this was the de facto music for many years. I have many, many happy memories of grooving to this man's music for many years. Saw his son Ziggi in Amsterdam in 2000 - fantastic concert. I left singing 'Africa Unite' all the way home on the tram. A great memory.
