Neil Young...new album!

yep...Neil Young releases his new album in a couple of weeks time....im not expecting much though!
its a covers set called "a letter home", it was recorded in a booth in Jack white's Nashville studio.
as it was recorded in a booth im assuming it will be an acoustic affair with just Neil,guitar and possibly harmonica.
it will be his tenth release since 2005, and that doesnt include his autobiography,his electric/bio fuel car development or his 'pono' sound system...
so Uncle Neil has been a very busy boy,shame he thinks more about quantity than quality these days, but i'll get the album anyway!

doesn't matter who it is
looks like mostly folky tunes here
so I'm sure Neil will cover them quite nicely

the quality of material recorded in a 'make your own song' booth is shocking theres no balance in the sounds,no equalisation...
maybe thats the sound Neil wanted for Neil but the album isnt going to sound very good if the rest of it is like this song from the album...

Agreed and I am kind of surprised considering his rants against the industry for poor sound quality and his pono thing. I wonder if this will even be available in his own pono store when it opens.

i guess im no longer "diehard" SteveO, i wont be getting this one upon release, but i will get it if only to keep the NY collection complete so it can wait until

Yeah seems like he's trying to replicate the early 30's/40's sound production wise... Really reminds me of the legend himself.... Robert Johnson - Crossroads... same characteristics different song.
