![]() KATE BUSH "the kick inside" cd,1978 career stats: studio albums.........10 singles...................33 this album: #3 UK,#3 AU,#95 CAN singles: "wuthering heights"................................#1 UK,#1 AU "the man with the child in his eyes"..........#6 UK,#22 AU,#85 US sometimes when i hear this album i turn it off as i find her vocals 'grating' and 'annoying', but not on this occasion. on this, her debut, her voice is almost ethereal at times, almost operatic, but not erratic LOL. ive also always thought of Kate Bush as a prequel to Icelandic singer Bjork in a lot of ways. album starts off with that kind of feel, the dreamy feel Wuthering Heights type songs, the second half is actually quite poppy in parts. the songs were apparently written by her between the ages of 13 and 19(when the album came out) on its day, this is a mighty fine collection, on a day when im really not in the mood for her it sucks big time. I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: feel it best track: james and the cold gun tracks: 1. moving ** 2.the saxaphone song ** 3. strange phenomena ** 4. kite ** 5. the man with the child in his eyes * 6. wuthering heights *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1pMMIe4hb4 1st official video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk-4lXLM34g 2nd official video 7. james and the cold gun *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej4FkpcQduw audio 8. feel it * 9. oh,to be in love ** 10.l'amour looks somehting like you ** 11.them heavy people *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfNtPbHkp0U video 12.room for the life *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms8kvBGxxmU audio 13.the kick inside ** 3s=4 2s=7 1s=2 rating: 2.1

![]() JONATHAN BOULET "we keep the beat, found the sound, see the need, start the heart" cd, 2012 career stats: studio albums......2 singles................4 this album: no chart entry singles: "youre a animal"........................no chart entry "this song is called ragged".........no chart entry now i thought Boulet only released one solo album, wiki states this is his second one?? he was previously in a couple of bands,an alt band where he played drums and sang, and two others which ive never heard of that wiki describe as being "metalcore" and "power violence" and if which he plays bass in those bands... the songs on here do have very energetic drum work happening, not sure if the guy is trying to show how good he is on the sticks or whether thats the metal in him, but the vocals, melodies and overall sound isnt metal,so i guess he is displaying his stick skills. songs lack variation though, which is why in the second half it tails of considerably for my liking, all up though, this is alt pop/rock, but it does sound unique. Boulet played most instruments here, produced and engineered the album himself and wrote everything, so the guy is multi-talented. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: trounce best track: you're a animal tracks: 1. youre a animal ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxErMzVBLxY audio 2. this song is called ragged ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un4fv5bjpRk video 3. I've heard this about this record and how rare it is to find, and now it is being reissued! One of those rainy day albums I think.

Currently listening to Psychic TV (UK) and saving up for some of their initial LP releases. I found a Ltd edition vinyl on one of my trips to Tokyo for an absolute steal, but now I am on the hunt for some more. I love the combination of video art and music- reminds me of Rage. I could definitely enjoy this music on a night out.

the first track you linked has a distinct psuedo-Psychadelic Furs sound happening...
the second and third tracks, i cant pick the sound but theyre definately familliar??? BTW, the first track was my favourite if the three you posted. it is strange because i was heavily into the British music from that period, yet i cannot recall that band whatsoever???

![]() BILLY BRAGG "back to basics" cd, 1987 career stats: studio albums: 13 singles..........: 21 this album: #37 UK ok, this was Billy's fourth album release, but it was not new material, it was a compilation of his first two UK album releases "lifes a riot with spy v spy" and "brewing up with Billy Bragg" plus a four track ep called "between the wars" which was his first single release from 1984. the tracks on this one are politicised along with love songs and social commentary, allbeit, sometimes all in one song. tracks are very sparse most featuring just Billy and an electric guitar for accompanyment. i love this stuff...he was my generation's Woody Guthrie/Bob Dylan rolled into one neat package, end of story! I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: strange things happen best track: between the wars tracks: 1. the milkman of human kindness *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Goxm0x4dTw live 2. to have and to have not *** 3. richard ** 4. lover's town revisited *** 5. a new england *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCfRcgoPxTw audio 6. the man in the iron mask ** 7. the busy girl buys beauty *** 8. it says here *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xvi9DjmINpA live 9. love gets dangerous *** 10.the myth of trust *** 11.from a vauxhall velox ** 12.the saturday boy *** 13.island of no return *** 14.st.swithins day ** 15.like soldiers do ** 16.this guitar says sorry ** 17.strange things happen * 18.a lover sings ** 19.between the wars *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjUA3RU4B8E live 20.world turned upside down *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwQwA_kFxoE audio 21.which side are you on? *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbddqXib814 audio 3s=13 2s=7 1s=1 rating: 2.6

was a toss up for me as to favourite track, that one was one of about four in serious contention for 'best track'
UK female singer Kirsty MacColl had a UK top ten with a cover of "a new england" around 1984-ish, pretty sure she was the female lead on Pogues "fairytale of NY" and Mike Oldfield's "moonlight shadow"... her version of "a new england" is below...i like it, but its not Bragg(sort of like people who cover Dylan...good, but not Dylan) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0Zvu_id_ew video
