Was watching this official video from the Floyd merch dept. and found out that the 'abandoned town' scenes were shot in Pripyat - a few miles from Chernobyl. So I decided to read up about it. Turns out they are still using some of the reactors in the plant. I suggest you read it - scary shit. http://youtu.be/P7YMI39sObY

To be quite honest, I don't really know. I would imagine there are still some die-hard fans who swear by it, and they both do have their distinctive 'sound' but if you wanted to buy one these days it would probably cost you a fortune. I believe they have now been emulated in software down to the finest detail but I cannot confirm that. Would love to just have a whirl on either one of them just to see what the attraction is.

My favourites by him are Tales of Mystery & Imagination, I Robot, Pyramid, Stereotomy & The Turn of a friendly Card.
I hadnât heard it all, but have now. Who knew Alan Parsons could start a party? A big up tempo departure! Iâm not averse to one or two tracks, Return to Tunguska (a subject which is fascinating on its own) being one of them. Letâs face it - this is a man, who, if heâs going do anything at all, will execute it brilliantly, buuut, it turns out I am an APP/AP purist. Wish he hadnât messed with The Raven - just my opinion! You learn something new every day.

Not busting, Bro, but define "a fortune". Anyway here's some good news (and not just for vintage electronics/sounds fans): both are still not just available--they're viable.: http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2009/0...nstrument/ and http://www.vintagesynth.com/misc/synclav.php << to quote that old headstone--"Here lies Les Moore/ 6 bullets from a .44/ no Les/ no Moore

Mark Knopfler - Screenplaying - a collection of movie soundtracks by the ex Dire Straits frontman. He came up with some pretty amazing stuff during this period. Far removed from all his other previous work. The ultimate chill-out album.

I like it but it wasn't easy. Quite a letdown from their first six albums actually. Only the 1 memorable track for me. Then they pick the worst
track as the only single. Not that Zep was ever a singles band, but if dj's only had this to play it wasn't much to promote the album. By this
time they didn't need it, a guaranteed #1 on release. Only going 3x platinum, it is the bands worst selling album other than that Coda mess.
That's probably the way I rank them also.
