yes Ruby, it is the Carter Family.
wikipedia says they were the first country group/artist to utilise the guitar as their main instrument,
prior to them it was banjo's,fiddles and ukelele's, the were the single biggest influence on everyone who came
along after them....

yep,CH was instrumental in the defeat ofGeneral "the butcher" Custer at Little Big Horn..
the band, were originally called The Rockets,Neil Young saw them playing a bar,offered them a gig backing him on his "everybody knows this is nowhere" album and renamed them Crazy Horse...
i have their 1971 debut self titled set...its a classic IMO,album contains the original version of Rod Stewart's "i dont want to talk about it" and the original "downtown" that Neil covered on his "tonights the night" album...
