Rolling Stone ranks it the 29th best album of all time
UKs Times ranks it the 41st best album of all time
UKs Uncut ranks it the 7th greatest debut album of all time

Was blown away when this gem came out. Had never heard anything like it. Then I was blown away 40 some years later when my brother heard it for
the first time and shrugged it off. Guess you had to be there. The perfect blend of metal/rock/blues. This was heavy metal in 1969. The only
throw away here is the damn instrumental. Everything else I love. The album has gone 8x platinum. There are 5 other Zep albums that have sold
more which proves the bands impact on music. Worthy of all those above honors.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Here's my favorite Zeppelin albums--Dread Zeppelin first followed by Lez Zeppelin--sorry, Limp Blimp doesn't make the cut.

Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited - superb technical production but unfortunately the reworking of the classic Genesis tracks just does not do it for me. If you want to hear these tracks the way they were meant to be performed, get a copy of 'Seconds Out'. probably one of the best live albums ever.

Bear with me here. It's my birthday so I decided to go and buy something by a band I have not heard before (see MH I can be quite adventurous at times!). Went to the local HMV store and found this gem. Bought it purely because of the cover/artwork - a minimalistic palm tree. Band is called 'Metronomy' whatever the hell that means! Will have to look it up. - Album is called 'The English Riviera'. First track reminded me of Ziggy Stardust for some reason??!?? At times it reminds me of BJH??!!?? Other times it is completely unique. Quite pleasantly surprised by this impulse buy. Oh well, karma is what karma does...

Dare I say it - I have found a new band I like. Really like.

Happy Birthday Jerome!

I was listening to Todd Rundgren and The New Cars which in turn led to Autoamerican. The first track - ‘Europa’ ...

singles:
"choir girl"............#14 AU
"cheap wine".........#8 AU
"my baby"............#40AU

Aussie rock/blues rock/pub rock band's third studio album....
lots of blues rock, straight rock and ballads fill this album...
rated the "21st greatest album ever" by Australian experts...
pretty hard to knock these guys when Jimmmy Barnes gets behind the mic and spits his powerful vocals...
group disbanded in 1984 and Barnes,Don Walker and Ian Moss have all gone on to have successful careers outside the band...
band have reformed on several occasions to tour, release several live sets from those tours and record successful studio sets also(the latest in 2011/12)...
a great album from the guys who outsold AC/DC back in the day out here!
three songs of note on here you like like the stories to...
"rising sun"...Barnes' story of wooing his future wife, was in love with the daughter of a Janese diplomat, they returned to Japan and the father told the daughter 'if he loves you,he will follow to take you back to australia" which is exactly what he did!
"ita"...she was almost every red bloodied guy's fantasy back in the day,ita buttrose, producer of women's magazines, regular on tv/radio chat shows...
"four walls"...story of the Bathurst car race riots(sort of lke the nascar thingy)...two rival outlaw bikie gangs had a stand off, many were injured, and some loss of life also...a young Cold Chisel performed there,so they saw the carnage first hand!

I LIKE THIS ALBUM
