this time im going to deliberatley post a clue to an artist i have definately posted previously on MD if only for the fact that Dire Straits are a bloody hard act to follow and to listen to something else straight away will pale in comparison, and i dont want to unduly unconsciously give something an unjust score!

and the song was...."hey hey,my my" from his "rust never sleeps" album...
Neil was recording the acoustic version subtitled "out of the blue" with Crazy Horse, Devo were in the next studio and heard the song, they started basically taking the piss out of the song by grunging it up, Neil overheard it,went into the studio with them and jammed what we have now...ie: the "into the black" version of "hey hey,my my"....

back to the Devo though...
i have a compilation set on cd,previously posted on MD as previously stated in a post a couple up the page...
theres a few things on the album i still like, but not much....
i do have a "live" ep of theirs on vinyl and a couple of old singles from back in the day also

originally Eminem and Proof from D-12 wanted to form a posse of twelve Detroit rappers, but including themselves could only find four others who had the same skills they did...
thus,they created alter-egos to make the six turn into twelve...ie: using their names and psuedenyms like "eminem became Slim Sahdy, etc etc...
i have both their albums on cd, "devils night" and "d-12 world", neither of which have been posted by me previously on MD
i like these guys, they have the Eminem humour and flow with their rapping,but also...they have the crude,obnoxious,foul mouth street talk also.
