Producers: Todd Rundgren

2nd studio album - #14 US, #9 UK, #1 AUS
Singles - You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth - #39 US, #33 UK, #3 AUS
.............Paradise By The Dashboard Light - #39 US
.............Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - #11 US, #32 UK, #11 AUS
.............Bat Out Of Hell - #15 UK, #26 AUS

I refuse to corrupt my awesome score with the 2 bonus tracks they gifted me with on this re-release. Dropping those I get 5 of 7 love tracks.
Studio albums don't get much better. This album stayed on the charts for 9 years. Yes some artists have topped that, but it's a pretty amazing
feat. Still sells an estimated 200,000 copies a year. Current total sales stand at around 43 million copies. It is the second best selling album
of all time in Australia where it went to #1. Wiki shows it as the 10th best selling album of all time worldwide. I had forgotten Edgar Winter
plays sax on this album. We also get Todd Rundgrean and Roy Bittan (Springsteen). And of course Ellen Foley's back up role is superb. I remember
picking up an Ellen Foley album after this came out. It was not very good. Jim Steinman was behind this classic album and some resentment was
built up after is was a hit and Mr. Loaf was getting all the credit. Wounds were healed eventually. After many subsequent releases this remains
Meat Loaf's best selling album. Those kind of numbers seldom happen mo
re than once.

I LOVE THIS ALBUM

Pretty good stuff, good musicianship and sound quality is excellent (mixed well so that all instruments and vocals are clear and nothing overbearing)

Awesome! ‘Heaven Can Wait’ gets big love from me, followed very closely by ‘You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth’. Brilliant album. Jeepers! Meatloaf looks so young here!

Meatloaf....
awesome album, always preferred "deadringer"(the followup), but still hard to go past this one anyway....
shame the guy is terrible live now....
saw him three years ago...totally crap IMO, couldnt readh or even hold those notes and the powerful vocals were shot, relied on backing singers to carry it for him...
was a shame really, i actually felt embarrassed for him

Bad Company - Bad Company. There is not a note on this album that I do not like. The classic rock album.

Agree 100%. This could/should be x-referenced in that "Best Debut..." Thread. Their 2 live albums got it all going on too.

Both these classic concerts, 34 years apart, show that these lads truly believed in what they were doing and remained good friends. The latter is available as a DVD: http://www.allmusic.com/album/live-at-we...0002150286 << a must-get if you are a True Believer

NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE "americana" 2012

Uncle Neil's 32nd studio set excluding Buffalo Springfield,CSNY,Stills-Young Band and his movie sountracks....
but either way 32 is still pretty prolific since his first solo set was released 36 years ago....
as much as i love NY he is,IMO, probably the laziest guitarist in rock at times, yet plays sublimely when it suits him to...
he is also the only artist i know and love who doesnt give a crap about quality of material a lot of the time....
eveything about Neil is spur-of-the-moment with little thought attached to it....
right,
thats my beef over Neil today...
but seriously, he does irk me when he releases stuff that is sub-standard for a guy who has made so much good music, and with a quality that few can match(when he wants to!)...
so i dont like it when he slaps together an album of covers because "he wanted to do it", i dont care who the artist is...thats a lame excuse to release an album "because he gets the urge"
for a full, proper look at the album read my "beginners guide to Neil Young 2000-and beyond"....

Bad Company - Burning Sky - love the title track but this album is not quite as good as their debut. Still enjoy it nevertheless.
