All tracks except one are instrumental! Official release date is November 7th.
Here's a description of the album from New Prog Releases: "The Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions, when David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason played freely together at Britannia Row and Astoria studios. This was the first time they had done so since the âWish You Were Hereâ sessions in the seventies. Those sessions resulted in The Division Bell, the bandâs last studio album. In 2013 David Gilmour and Nick Mason revisited the music from those sessions and decided that the tracks should be made available as part of the Pink Floyd repertoire. It would be the last time the three of them would be heard together. The band have spent the last year recording and upgrading the music, using the advantages of modern studio technology to create The Endless River. The Endless River is a tribute to Rick Wright, whose keyboards are at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound. It is a mainly instrumental album with one song, âLouder Than Wordsâ, (with new lyrics by Polly Samson), arranged across four sides and produced by David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Youth and Andy Jackson."
The ultimate connection is between a performer and its' audience!

guess that leaves me out
made sure to include 1 with vocals so they could have a single

They're not aiming for a single - or a 'hit' record - this is a tribute to Richard Wright - hence the only vocal track's title 'Louder Than Words' Also the last track on the album. Any producer/engineer will tell you that if you have a 'hit' single it has to appear within the first three tracks of an album. They are trying to do something different here. The PF trademark! The title of the album is a clear indication of the mindset. The album artwork speaks volumes if only people took the time to investigate it. Even the font used on the website is cutting edge. This band has never cut corners on production - they are always looking ahead. If the other bands of the 60's and 70's had spent half the amount of time PF did on production, marketing, recording, promotion etc they would still be around. Most are not, simply because they were just too damn lazy. Yes, the 'band' as we know it is gone - but the spirit remains intact. Shine On You Crazy Diamonds.......

back to Jerome's comment about "never cutting corners on production".....
im not a huge Pink Floyd fan as you guys know but i agree, Pink Floyd's end product was always perfect, from the crystal clear sounds and hearing every note, tap of a cymbal etc, even little things like tiny sound effects, the balance of their sound was also perfect under the scrutiny of headphones...its impossible to knock them for their 'finished product' three other bands/artists come to mind for perfection on the sound of their final product,im sure there are other bands who have very good production also... Dire Straits...listen to "love over gold" under the headphones! Jethro Tull....we all know Ian Anderson never accepted anything less than perfect,he probably even expected the Tea-Lady to make perfect cups of tea for him,LOL Beatles........their production under George Martin was far superior to all the other artists of the time, and their sounds as solo artists never quite matched the GM production without him.

jazzboCR Wrote:Short attention spans. Correct - it has been proven that if people don't hear the 'catchy hook track' early on they tend to abandon the album and move on to something else. It's just a marketing trick but it works. Unfortunately!
