Recently discovered this amazing alternative Indie band from New York. Personally I think they've got a strong original sound! Look forward to see what the future holds for this 3 piece.

Quote:"...Though a trio live, Lau sings and plays everything on this record, recording it in her bedroom, which must be the size of a Hollywood backlot for all the sweeping zeal that is intermittently attained (oh wait, she lives in Brooklyn)...What it is weâre not sure, this is only a five-song (kind of four and a half) EP after all. But whatever it is, itâs exciting." - CMJ
"The biggest key to [Polar Night], however, is its intensity. Nothing here holds back and it really sells the track. Katie delivers every line with passion and aggression and when she spits lines like, âa will to survive fighting a death drive. itâs okay, itâs alright," life feels worth living again. All of this is raging under a thick layer of fuzz and noise as if every element on this track is fighting for attention. Itâs rough around the edges but thatâs hardly a complaint. It feels necessary at this point." - Heart and Soul
"The debut EP from Brooklyn-based Painted Zeros is, for lack of a better word, awesome...The EP ranges from deceptively fragile and New Order-tinged (âThis American Lifeâ) to ecstatic and garage rock-y (âJaimeâ) to moody-yet-hopeful-yet-delicate-yet-steely (âToo Drunkâ)." - Fresh New Tracks
"...when I say that Painted Zeros is the perfect party band, I mean that they can be enjoyed at any time! But seeing them with a group of people who are jumping on top of each other and screaming all the lyrics is the prime environment to first experience the band." - Impose
"âToo Drunkâ feels like a cassette tape recording of a house party, a found document capturing all the debauchery of the night before. The track morphs back-and-forth from synth-bass jams to Pavement-esque guitar freak-outs while crowds cheer in the background, chanting along with Lau as she yells, âToo drunk to function!â But the song is far from an endorsement of binge drinking or the party lifestyle, as Lau makes disheartening confessions throughout." - Consequence of Sound
