What Are You Listening To?
One of my biggest regrets was not seeing Supertramp live. Their 'Paris' album is just fantastic. It must have been one hell of a show judging by the applause after 'Fools Overture'.

Fool's Overture is an emotional track and Even in the Quietest Moments . . . has a good clean production in keeping with the times (Steely Dan's Aja appeared around this time). I don't own the album or Paris.

^^^^In the Eye of the Storm is fabulous!

And the concert in Paris was absolutely brilliant – the roadies must’ve worked their butts off carting all those instruments around! Hard labour in those days lol! It was an incredible musical coup IMHO despite marking the beginning of the end for the original line-up – takes remarkable talent (and confidence) to pull that off and you can just see that they know exactly what they’re doing – they HAD to, technology being limited at the time.

Both Davies and Hodgson are geniuses in their own right, and John Helliwell is not far behind. Bob Siebenberg doesn’t get mentioned very often, but he was also part of that original core that did such amazing things. Davies provided a great foil for the potentially whiny Hodgson and it’s a shame it all came crashing down, but hey – that’s life.

Crime of the Century is almost beyond reproach, in my view and Some Things Never Change is masterfully put together.

10th compilation album

Screwed again! I think this is my third compilation album where I get that feeling. Most of these are not original recordings. The early hits
were re-recorded after Orbison's comeback in the mid-80's. A trained ear knows the difference. Most of these tracks would have got a love score
if not for that. The tracks that did get that honor were original recordings after the comeback plus the superb duet with KD on Crying. My
worst goes to that stupid Ooby Dooby song in which they make half of it the original from the 50's and then switch to a current day re-
recording. Quite a contrast but I don't like either one.

I LIKE THIS ALBUM
