THE PRETTY RECKLESS "going to hell" cd, 2014

career stats:
studio albums........2
singles..................8

this album: #5 US, #20 AU, #5 CAN, #8 UK
singles:
"follow me down"................no chart action
"going to hell"....................no chart action
"heaven knows".................#48 CAN, #61 UK
"house on a hill".................no chart action
"fucked up world"...............no chart action

i picked up this album(and their debut) after MH posted this one as a new release earlier in the year...
some good genuine rock on this one, almost Joan Jett-ish in places
a couple of lovely rock ballads also and a couple that really do border metal also including "sweet things" which im sure SteveO would love
vocalist Taylor Momson played in the teen series 'gossip girl' prior to reaching into rock and roll, and boy-oh-boy can she rock it vocally, probably the best female rock singer in the last twenty years IMO and certainly up there with Suzi Quatro and the aforementioned Joan Jett...
all up, a very very good album of solid rock and roll, just hope the debut set is half as good as this one when it comes out of the unplayed stack of purchases(of which there are around thirty thus-so-far!)
this one narrowly misses a love score but im sure with a couple more plays it will get there!
this album is probably going to be at the top of my albums of the year list come the end of the year and worth putting on your lists to purchase also!

Nice-nice--but wholy-crapoly to an atheist who believes in neither heaven nor hell but is daily confronted by psychos who bring hell/torture to Earth. How about an album depicting such as CIA prisons in Eastern Europe or what Vladimir Putin is doing to his enemies or what the Chinese Government is doing to the Uighurs or the terror ISIS is spreading throughout Asia or what John Wayne Gacy or Ted Bundy did and what similar psychos continue to do? That would be interesting--this stuff is designed/merchandised to those who get afeared by the 11 o'clock news then go to sleep, waking up in the morning for their jobs at the diner/auto parts store. "I feel so sorry for those folks." ZZZZZ Puh-lease.

I'm in a Folk-y mood. I discovered this "Gaelic Doom" band yesterday and I've been listening to them quite a lot since then! I know at least SteveO might like them too.

The live version of Worth Fighting For by Judus Priest on the Touch of Evil album. The track originated on the Rob Halford comeback album, Angel of Retribution, and appears to have a second vocal, possibly from Glenn Tipton. Either that or Halford managed to radically change his voice. The live version misses the second vocal. In fact, the whole live album seems to suffer from its handling of the vocal tricks on the studio albums, as also on Dissident Aggressor. Really, they need two singers for their live act and Tipton should sing the second parts or they should hire another singer (like Tim Owens). After their illustrious beginning, I sometimes think Judus Priest are the most under-achieving heavy rock band of all time.

Yes great track Ralgrim! However the sound stopped around the 6:40 mark and the clip is 12:04?

Big mistake on the part of whomever uploaded--the song natively only goes to about 7 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV_60-4Gt6A

I'm up to my rapidly-thinning head hair with "comeback albums". What we need are a lot more "I'm done--I'm staying away" albums. The Band's Last Waltz comes to mind. Enough is enough--try something else...and unless you are Freddy Fender, try it with a new name--the Wanna-Be Freaky White Many-Incomprehensibly-Tattooed Duke, e.g. https://images.search.yahoo.com/images/v...-fh_lsonsw << say, as a lounge singer...doing Timi Yuro's I'm So Hurt": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KECkRsiq9Lg << stranger things have happened.
