Jethro Tull - Warchild - a trip down memory lane - must have been about 12 or so when I first heard this album. It has stood the test of time really well - still sounds fresh to me.

Next up - Thick as a Brick 2 - This guy has not lost his impetus at all. As original as ever. A unique character on the musical landscape - a thinking musician.

THE EASYBEATS "the definitive anthology" cd, 2003
career stats:
years active: 1964-1969
studio albums....6
singles.............28
#1 hits(AU).......3
Aussie 1960s rock band similar in vein to the UK bands of that period ie:Beatles,Stones,Small Faces etc....
only really had one major hit outside of Australia in "friday on my mind", but IMO, they made some better songs...
their following/fanbase here was as big as the Beatles and the same fever pitch hysteria as the Beatles got, they got here also...
their influence over other bands that have followed is enormous, influencing many of the Aussie bands that followed...
many international artists including Los Bravos,Paul Revere,Ricky Martin,INXS,Divinyls,David Bowie and Jimmy Barnes....
vocalist Stevie Wright went on to have a spasmodic solo career as a blues rocker....
Harry Vanda and George Young went on to form a production company and record label in "albert records" where George's younger siblings Angus and Malcom and their little band AC/DC started and remain to this date...
they also wrote songs for other artists and form shortlived bands to record their own material...
all up,
a pretty good album IMO containing fifty-six tracks, all their singles and i'd assume various studio album tracks...
im not posting all the songs here but the album comes in at a darn good 2.2 on the rating system...

ACE FREHLEY "greatest hits:live" cd, 1998.
solo career stats:
studio albums........6
singles..................7
this album.....no chart action.
a very decieving album title here because when did Frehley really have a hit single, certainly not as a solo artist and i think the only one with KISS
that he sang lead vocal on was 1980's "talk to me" which was only a hit in Australia from memory...
album should have been called "songs i wrote:live" IMO....
was never a fan of Frehley as a vocalist live and probably only got this one for his guitat work but it does contain the classic "new york groove", which allbeit was a cover, but i cannot recall who did it first...
a terrible live album...he cant sing for crap live, the production/sound of the album is pretty bad at times also...sounds like a cheap bootleg, but it is an official release...
i do not score live albums as you all know by now and if i did this would almost certainly score a near perfect 1.0!
i do not like this album...
theres no links from it, and with live albums i usually only link tracks with live recordings from the album, not other performances.

David Knopflerâs Wishbones. (Yep â that would be Markâs little brother) Havenât heard any of his solo stuff before and really enjoyed listening to this album. I donât think itâs fair to make comparisons, although itâs impossible not to notice certain similarities, and there are bound to be hangovers from the days of Dire Straits. David has great narrative ability IMHO, he doesnât seem to be afraid of voicing a socio/political opinion now and then, and he knows his way around the ivories. Might have to listen to some more â¦

^Unfortunate choice of photo on that clip, DK receding into the background - go figure!
