FATHER JOHN MISTY "i love you, honeybear"

online listen at itunes-Australia

second album by Joshua Tillman under the psuedenym
Father John Misty...
the ex-Fleet Foxes drummer stays pretty true to their
formula of laidback melodies and music mixed with dreamy vocals
and beautiful harmonies...
what annoys me with this album is his insistance to drop the occasional
F-Bomb...its really not neccessary and certainly doesnt add anything
to the songs he drops them on IMO...
several tracks have a distinct Beach Boy/Brian Wilson feel
in the melodies and harmonies...if i can find links to those tracks
i wil post them...
from a first up listen there are ten tracks i like and two i dont...
this gives a score of 1.8 for a first up listen, which is okay with me...

you'll like it...a bit more commercial sounding that the first one...

and its on my "to buy" list with what i have left of my xmas giftcards...

[Music Head]

enters the Billboard chart this week at #17

agree with the f-bomb comment
doesn't work with his laid back sound
aside from that
sweet string section on most tracks
nice harmonies
lyrics you can understand
what's not to like?
