this guy and that guy--music duos
#1
"Guy" is gender-free, as in guy-wire. In all eras, in all genres there've been 2 folks heading the act. From the obvious to the obscure, and instrumental acts too (more common in jazz than pop, natch). Women and mixed gender acts included, and no names need be used. However I kinda draw the line at family groupings--no Kallen Twins, etc. Does the list begin or end with Simon & Garfunkel...or the Righteous Brothers?? Here's a fascinating compendium, listing nearly every possible combination of artists and genres, and a list of duos (I confess: These are truly obscuro and not what I had in mind. If you sift through these, there'll be gems. Get back to us with those, OK?): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Musical_duos
Skip & Flip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4Ow_78bgNk and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJBYs9AFgiM
Robert & Johnny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVRTCKTJU5Q and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGuzf7at0Ew << another hip duet on "You're Mine...": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNWAn7MfzAY << Much, much better experience on the DVD, My True Story
Mickey & Sylvia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFoyaYtK5cE << Sylvia Vanderpool was very much an equal partner
Don & Juan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkqVU8PQOgE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=na2IP0bO-NI

If you are a fan of this music from this era (all genres), check out this box set. The legitimate criticism leveled against it should not spoil your enjoyment:

Great list--glad I stimulated some research instincts.
I've always liked this Deep Soul classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIRZnMt5HJs

There haven't been many jazz singing duos--here's one of the best doing a Beatles tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtfxrc3q7sk << They lived and worked together for 50+ years.
