MOON HOOCH - MOON HOOCH - ( Debut album released 13 June 2013)




Moon Hooch is a Brooklyn-based collaborative trio (Mike Wilbur - tenor saxophone, Wenzl McGowen - tenor saxophone, James Muschler - drums) that formed in the summer of 2010. Their music is a fusion of house, dance, drum and bass, jazz, world, and classical music. In the past year or so, they have made a mark on their listeners (and general passersby) in the city by playing in public places (like Central Park, Brooklyn subway stations, etc.), and will be joining Mike Doughty on his fall 2011 tour. This is an uplifting sax album! Very unpredictable and a joy to listen to! The sound bounces back from ragtime jazz to bebop to contemporary to avant garde all at once!!!! There is a presence of a hard rock base here also!

One of the best albums I have heard in awhile!

Like the Sax Steve!! My Pastor who is also a Church of God choir director (who I have known since he was a kid) plays a excellent Sax!! I'll try and find a video.
