The so called list will be compliled by each member not anyone else from a trade magazine or record site!!!...lol...music is subjective mate, to each his own!mile:we had this thread before somewhere in the hinterands!!!I know my tip 5 aren't on the list because they are not mainstream crap...well maybe one..lol
Sage Francis, Common , Brother Ali , Eminem , Pitbull...I like female rappers for the most part ...but don't really know of any that aren't mainstream???...Neneh Cherry , Lauryn Hill ???...a part of music I have to explore! NENEH CHERRY ! Anyone have some female rappers to share?! Yay a subjective thread. Although, if you are creating a list with a ranking system, I think it's helpful to give a criteria on how you compiled said list. With rappers, I base their skill set on three things. 1) Flow - Basically the style of delivery 2) Subject matter - The content and 3) Creativity - Ability to display a range of styles.
With this I will share my number one rapper. Gift of Gab. This guy has recieved tons of recognition for his rapping ability and is the definition of talented, when it comes to his craft. Listen to the album "Blazing Arrow" by Blackalicious and you'll get the idea. |
