Anyone here like death metal? My favourite death metal band is Morbid Angel, but I've only got Blessed are the sick so far.
I also like Obituary - I've got Slowly we Rot and Cause of Death.
Then there's Death and Entombed. I mostly like old Death Metal of the late 80s and early 90s because that's my era I suppose.

I have a casual interest in death metal. I haven't listened to it in a long time. Lately the only metal I've listened to has been some of the slower and more experimental metal. Some of the bands are influenced by death/black metal.
Lately its been: Nahvalr, Neurosis, Pentemple, and Earth.

I love death metal, but nowadays they're calling everything deathcore, but i still don't understand how whitechapel and the black dahlia murder are deathcore, i think napalm death are still classed as death metal?

I tend to like "trash" metal as well.

Best Thrash band in my opinion is Exodus, which point out drugs and street life in their early years as well as drinking and driving. Not the best death metal band, but one of my favorites in being morbid and aiming their lyrics to political points. Justifiable homicide is a great song starting out with amazing drum fill and psychotic tapping riffs. Annihilator is another band that yet thrashy as hell but more melodic and riff heavy somewhat ACDC flavor. Im heavily influenced by their guitarist Jeff Waters is a Guitar Lord for sure. Denied being a great song, king of the kill is a badass song to sing and play in which I believe he recorded the album on his own, sings and plays through it.

I'd like some of it if it weren't for the cookie monster vocals...but then I guess it wouldn't be death metal.
