Hi all,
I'm pretty new here but I have essentially ended up here whilst looking for a music community to join. I've been bouncing around different places trying to find somewhere that is friendly and diverse. I make a lot of music myself and most of the places that I have been seem to just be either over saturated (like Youtube) or full of trolls. I'm all up for a bit of banter & constructive criticism but when people just respond with "U SUCK LOLLZ", it doesn't strike me as being the most hospitable environment! From what I've seen so far, MD is the kind of music community I have been looking for
One thing I'm interested in though are the different social media sites people use and what kind of vibe they get from them (outside of forums). I'm doing a bit of research for promoting my work in the future and trying to share & get some ideas on what I can use, especially relatively new sites that have a bit of a different kind of following.
One of the more interesting ones I've stumbled across so far has been Zugme. I was reading up on different sites and this caught my eye.
It's essentially just another site thatallows people to share music an videos but the general community onthere seems to be incredibly friendly and diverse. I was really interested in the way people can upload audio blogs as well, it just seems like a really cool idea for doing a diary of recording an album or something like that. Also just the way you can post stuff linked directly to a city kind of caught my attention, being able to link everything to your hometown or wherever it was done. So there's a bunch of cool stuff about it and it's not just music but there's a whole load of posts about food, travel, comedy, movies etc.
You'll have to forgive me for waffling on but it's something I've looking into for quite a while now. What kind of experience have you guys had with the music community online? Anyone use Zugme? Also, if there are any other sites that people use then it would be great to hear about them!
Thanks!
