Well, not all about YT (no gossip, no speculation) but some past, some present, some future * and an interview with the CEO (she was the 16th hire at Google). YT is important enough here that this might be appreciated.: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/21/busine...utton.html
* Actually a big part of the future is now--the roll-out of a paid-subscription service, Magic Key.

I've been tempted to sign up to YT, in order to add my comments, but have never got round to doing so.

Nor I. Make you a deal--I'll show them mine if you'll show them yours, sometime this week. Fair enough?

What I recommend and what I've done is set up an account with another email provider just for this purpose. "Outlook" is my primary, GMail is used for Amazon use and now AOL.com for various and sundry like YT comments and such. Adds a level of complexity maybe but a level of security certainly. Just a thought...

I have got a gmail account, which I rarely use, and every time I try to sign up to YT, Google keeps compelling me to use my full real name (because they now own YT). I cannot find anything to tell me in plain English how to get round this problem.

If gmail is thwarting your legitimate aspirations, try one from this list (I searched for British providers): http://tomuse.com/free-email-services-review/

Google and YouTube won't let me sign in with anything else.

Google and Apple are going to wind up owning the world, or at least knowing everything in it. Wasn't there a time when their mission was to subvert the dominant paradigm?...and now they are that paradigm. "My way or the highway", saith them. At least we tried...
