BOB DYLAN "shadows in the night"
His-Bobness' latest studio effort...
and the word "effort" is being generous IMO....
not a stranger to cover albums, he's released two previously
and also "self portrait" from 1970 which was almost a complete
covers set is back...
this time he takes on the songs, sort of like his "american songbook"
but all the songs are/were Sinatra songs...
the music is beautifully played in authentic style,
Dylan even tries to sing properly without his whiney,nasal croak...
and for the most part he sounds like he is singing...
but alas, he is dreadfully out of tune at times,
other times it sounds as though he couldnt give
a crap about the product and/or the respect he should be
giving these songs...
not a very good album IMO, even diehard Dylan fans like
Music Head will find this one hard to listen to in one sitting...
but as usual, and being Dylan fans, we always accept mediocrity
from him...
of the ten tracks theres probably only two,maybe three i can say are
really passable as songs...
album rating from me: 1.3 which converts to a score of 4/10

you think being bested by Fifth Harmony is depressing...
that is,
until you hear "shadows in the night", and you'll wonder how it even made the charts, because seriously....it IS that bad!
